Reid_Special_98 01.03.2014 09:52 |
Are you sure you didn't hear Tom Deacon ? He's a comedian that (judging from a google search) has been on Al Murray's show before. Nevertheless I would be intrigued if John ACTUALLY was appearing. I am not discounting your news but I am simply hoping that nobody is disappointed. Good post and hopefully good news !! |
brENsKi 01.03.2014 09:55 |
what Al actually said was "and in Sunday's show, I also have an email from john Deacon" |
cmsdrums 01.03.2014 11:13 |
Well at least he's in correspondence with someone, even though he tends to ignore Brian and Roger's attempts to communicate! |
brENsKi 01.03.2014 11:19 |
no-one has confirmed it as THE John deacon as yet - fingers crossed? also Al Murray is a huge queen fan, |
madmetaltom 01.03.2014 12:13 |

John was very affected by Freddie's ilness. He rememberd everything about his father passed away when John was 11 years old. He couldn't confort see Freddie in that condition...Enough said. Oh, the only Freddie's album with a guest of Queen, was John in Barcelona. She blows hot and cold was an outttake, and a b side. Respect John. When the vhs of Freddie mercury tribute never appeard the name of Queen+... Remember Freddie always was very protective with John. All my respect and love to John Deacon. |

I think both Brian and Roger have said that they appear on Mr Bad Guy. And wasn't it confirmed in the FM Solo box that the Love Kills backingtrack originated from The Works' sessions? |
brENsKi 02.03.2014 04:38 |
well - think i was right to question whether it was/wasn't THE JD turns out it wasn't - it was a listener requesting some Uriah Heep - got Argent played instead |

Al murray is full of crap it wasnt the real john deacon :( just a cheap shot to get queen fans to listen to his show :( feckin wanker |

I've listened to his sunday show for sometime and it's amusing ireverant and funny. and - most importantly, in the "teaser/promo" that ran all week for the show he didn't indicate that it was JD - in fact he hinted that it wasn't - saying something like "surely not" you are taking this FAR FAR FAR too seriously |

The Pub Landlord is a character, Al Murray is the person - on a sunday you hear him. also, his band t-34 are quite good - and manage to play some decent rock covers. but i suppose YOU know everything about him including why he picked queen as a favourite band? - your reasoning doesn't make sense - someone "appealing to the lowest common denominator" doesn't choose a band with a gay lead singer who died of AIDS. |

how am i taking it to far? ive loved queen since 74 and listened to hundreds of dj talking about queens etc but they never conned you into thinking that they were gonna be on the show? but in the end who cares yous lot take things to seriously here on queenzone, as queen died in 1991 , and all thi shite that's going on the now and previously with five paul Rodgers and now feckin bender adam lambert who makes Freddie look like a feckin brick layer is a total embarrassment, point is he did say it was JD, and just because he is a feckin QUEEN fan doesn't make him good, christ Bronson loves queen is he a good guy? anyhoo hes English enough said. so lighten up dude. |

AlbaNo1 02.03.2014 10:38 |
? Thats exactly my point - that there is often confusion between the character and person with Al Murray's act. Therefore does the person actually like Queen, or just the character. I havent listened to his show yet so if you have and believe he comes across as a genuine fan fair enough. But given Al Murray the person claims not to hold any of the views purported by the Pub Landlord then it seems logical to think liking Queen would also fall into that category. |

Yes he likes Queen, but if you follow him on Twitter I'd say Genesis are pretty much his favourite band. |

I'm glad he didn't show up during the Genesis 2007 shows. Shame he was there at the O2 in 2008 though. |

That said, the guy who does the drumming for the rest of the album (between the masses of drum machines or synths!) does a good job and could pass off for Rog in places.Pim Derks wrote: I think both Brian and Roger have said that they appear on Mr Bad Guy. I can't understand why people are getting so het up about this. Yes, we know John Deacon is retired and that he hasn't made any contact with the public (nor Rog & Bri supposedly) since the mid to late nineties. Yet people seem to go berserk when John Deacon still doesn't come into contact with the outside world, after being teased by Mr Murray into thinking that we are going to hear from him through his radio show. Of all of the places that we'd hear from ol' Deaky, do we really think it'd be through a lunchtime slot on a not particularly mainstream radio station? |
