From the 29th April 1991. it's small though so it can't be read. :/ |
thomasquinn 32989 16.02.2014 10:12 |
Not especially rare. Very infamous, though. This is a perfect illustration of why The Sun, its owners and everyone who works there is immoral scum. Rupert Murdoch belongs in jail. |
hachiman 16.02.2014 12:36 |
If it's not rare, where else could you find this? I got this from this site. link |
Thistle 16.02.2014 13:18 |
Is it the article itself you're saying is rare, or the photo? As we can't see the text, I can only imagine you're pointing out the photo - which has been circulated literally hundreds of times on the net over the past couple of decades and is an infamous one here, as TQ has mentioned above. A simple search for "Freddie Mercury, The Sun 1991" on google brings up several hits for this photo, as well as lots of similar images around the time. Tbh, I find it all very ghoulish, so only did that search to find out where else this could be found. I don't know why anyone would want to see this morbid shit. |
hachiman 16.02.2014 13:31 |
Sorry, I meant the article itself, I know the photo isn't rare. |
Thistle 16.02.2014 13:39 |
^ btw, I just re-read my post above and realised it looks like I'm taking a swipe at you...I apologise for that as I wasn't :) Agreed that the article itself is hard to find - could only find the photos, but not the text. My research skills ain't what they should be, but I defo couldn't see anything bigger than what you've posted. Just the usual "Freddie's Dead" pages, and funeral shots. Gives me the creeps just looking at it - especially this piece of shit. I know it's fake, but just the idea that someone could attempt passing it off as Freddie's last shot: |

I think that photo was taken when Freddie and Terry went to a yard sale ( or what ever you call those second hand outdoor markets). The photo was also released in german newspapers around that time.I agree with Walter the article itself is hard to find. As a( former) collector of snippets / reports I was more focused on concert reviews / Tour reports / Studio gossip etc. The hunting on Freddie begans in 1986 when he returned from a Japan( September if my mind serves me correctly) trip and the press confronting him that two of his ex-lovers died of Aids. |
hachiman 18.02.2014 09:43 |
Well that site has the photo of the article said that it was taken when he was walking around in his garden. |

First bit says "AILING rocker Freddie Mercury takes a rare stroll in public - a tragic shadow of the party loving superstar his fans once knew. |
FreddieCat 01.06.2014 11:19 |
Gawd, am I the only organism on the planet that thinks the aged Freddie does NOT looks horrible and ghoulish? The content of the article is ghoulish and horrible, the writer, the publishers of the paper, yes. But Freddie? No. To me he looked real, like a distinguished next door neighbor. The superstar party lover did not appeal to me so much but served to bring adoring fan's attention to him and to Queen. People need that playboy image and so that one is ok too. I liked the beard better than the stash and to mme his face with all its pain, was still beautiful to the very end. |
noorie 01.06.2014 11:53 |
FreddieCat, I think there is a bit of confusion here. We were all referring to the horrible weird 'skeleton in a rocking chair' internet picture supposedly of an ailing Freddie. Check out the attachment added by Walter White. (NOT the image in the OP's article.)That image is truly ghoulish and disgusting. |
FreddieCat 01.06.2014 12:40 |
Got it! Yes, it is horrible! |

A quick refresher. That's were you do a paid task in exchange for money bit I digress. Dummy, I dont think Rupert Murdoch was setting in the meeting with the editor saying stalk Freddie Mercury and catch his emaciated mug. Unaware that Murdoch and his cronies have recently faced legal prosecution for their many illegal activities in the course of their third-rate journalistic undertakings? And you dug up an old topic simply to make yourself look like an enormous ass by supporting the convicted felons of Murdoch's media empire for "doing their jobs"? It's clear that *somebody* in this topic is the victim of their "low intellect [sic]". |

Ok, I'll just split this into two parts: 1) Are your reading skills so poor that it takes you over FOUR MONTHS to read a topic, or were you so busy creating the acoustic torture you call music and thinking up some fresh über-lame slurs? 2) Not that it would ever get through your thick skull, but a little more than 'taking a picture' was involved. We'll save the details for discussions with adults whose mental faculties exceed those of a lobotomized hippopotamus, i.e. anyone on this forum who isn't you. |

I usually don't pay attention to posts I don't make. I'm very vain and arrogant like that. I don't apologize. 2. The topic of this thread involves a picture of Freddie Mercury from nearly 25 yrs in public that's not illegal and I just thought it was an idiotic comment you made that's all. |

If greedy paparazzi types wanna take pictures of dying people who refuses to admit they're dying thus making them fair game and newsworthy than they have as much right to take the pic as you or me have to breathe.kdj2hot wrote: 2. That's incorrect. If you wish to challenge a picture being taken of you, and published, you can. Despite many papers doing it on a daily basis, it is illegal to publish pictures taken without your permission, unless it is a picture of a busy street and you're unlucky enough to have been snapped passing by. |
SkyeTV 23.06.2014 17:22 |
That said, that's from 1998 laws, so wouldn't have covered Freddie in '91. Perhaps another law would have, but I'm unclear on that. It's still immoral and unethical, though. It may have been a public street, but it's still about someone's private life. Clearly, it wasn't a "public" appearance, but a quick transfer from home to car. |
