Here is the next instalment of my guide to all the song versions of Queen, and this time it’s Live Killers. Just like the last share, this download included all the chapters published to date. So throw out your old copies, because everything you need is here.
I’d also like to make some acknowledgements. My thanks to Soxtalon, who proof reads each chapter before it’s published to weed out any errors, and to Walter B, whose research has provided a lot of information around release dates and catalogue numbers.
The Game will be uploaded next week.
Along with the Flash Gordon soundtrack the only Queen album I have never owned other than taped copies from CD's borrowed from the library years ago (which have now disappeared). It just sounds awful.
A shame, and a head scratcher, that a 2011 reissue can't be included in Chapter Eight.
There has to be enough good pieces of 'Somebody To Love', 'It's Late', 'Fat Bottomed Girls', and 'If You Can't Beat Them' to make complete additions (along with some remixing of the entire album).
Zeppelin did it with 'The Song Remains The Same', taking a semi piece of junk, and turning it into a really damn good release.
At the time of release, I certainly expected it to at least equal Frampton Comes Alive or Live Bullet. And yet, there is a charm because, with the volume way up, the band 'sounds' just like they did in Kzoo in '78.
We avoided all of the reissues. We'd buy a new and improved LK.
