A night at the opera has charted at nr 198 on Billboard charts. it is not much of course but, a nice sign.
I just wish the american shops are normally displaying and selling Queen records on their shelves.
Just like shops in Europe do (selling records of much more unfamous rock and metal bads albums)
Anyone from usa confirming if shops shelves have a good number of Queen albums ??
cheeers :)
surely "they" stock whatever there's a demand for?
not whatever looks like balance to a queen fan - i think it's a little naive to think that they should stock stuff...just because it's queen...stocking stuff doesn't make it sell more
basic laws of business are to NOT have unsellable stock on the shelves
i think it is true but not 100% it depends a little bit on how much they try to sell things in order to make people want them. so it is for music too. i think

This is indeed very good. An album that was released 39 years ago and still charts on the Billboard 200 is excellent. Of course i'm sure that Universal keeps track of these things and knows why it charted again - maybe a song appeared on one of those celebrity shows or something else. This is very important data to keep track of.
Thanks for the information.
That's actually pretty good! And I think it's unlikely a celebrity show appearance had anything to do with it. Normally, compilations like GH re-chart after these things. I live in the UK and had an interesting conversation with someone from the US recently. The topic of rock bands came up and I was like, "Freddie is probably not a hugely known performer in the States these days, or is he?". The person, who was not a Queen fan in particular, almost accused me of ignorance. She said he was a legend over there now. Any American fans out there to comment?
Yes! I'm American, and Queen is popular here in America. Of course, not as popular as in the UK, but they're popular. Queen is my favorite band, and I know quite a few people who also like Queen. Freddie Mercury is legendary, but most Americans criticize Queen fans for their "seemingly endless [explicit sexual act] over Freddie...
