Just seen on Brian's website an interview with Kerry and himself in which he says that he has been in the studio with Roger working on an unused track from the Works sessions, any guesses " let me in your heart " maybe ? |
rocknrolllover 29.01.2014 05:26 |
Let me live with Rod Stewart, back to storm(as possible). Hmmm. Please, give a link on Brian interview! |
MrFunster 29.01.2014 07:01 |
Let me in your heart again ; 99 % sure it will be on it , and TMBMTLTT is also quite sure it will be released as a first single. (I hope without vocals MJ) I think it ruins the song a bit. The other tracktitles are still complete unsure. I hope they will also rework some oldies, Life is real (reworked), for example, with vocals of Kerry & Freddie should sound great if you ask me. Brian/Roger like suprises and release big things. In the vaults there are a lot of songs they will probably clean up a bit and use for the final album. |
rocknrolllover 29.01.2014 07:25 |
Well as always wait and see |
MrFunster 29.01.2014 07:28 |

k-m 29.01.2014 08:52 |
I wouldn't be surprised if they dusted off I Go Crazy. The idea of Kerry singing on a Queen album doesn't appeal to me at all. Two or three MJ tracks would be more than enough. Okay, enough of that speculative talk from me. |
rocknrolllover 29.01.2014 08:58 |
No need Ellis |

cmsdrums 29.01.2014 10:59 |
+1 for no Ellis. Those who want to hear her/see her live have plenty of other opportunity to do so. As much Freddie & John as possible please! |
Fireplace 29.01.2014 12:29 |
Kerry Ellis, what a great idea! She has been a major influence on Queen's music from the early days, and was Freddie's favourite singer. A Bohemian Rhapsody duet with Adam Lambert would be especially heavenly. As long as those boring old farts May, Taylor and Deacon don't participate, and of course the dead gay singer. They are quite obviously have beens wanting to hitch a ride on the bandwagon of real stars like Kerry and Adam. Let's show the world the REAL Queen! |
The Real Wizard 29.01.2014 13:25 |
I'm glad Brian's working with Kerry, keeping him busy with music as he pleases ... but needless to say, having her on a Queen album for anything other than occasional backing vocals would be a horrible mistake. Besides, it would never fly with Roger. |
gooddrills 29.01.2014 13:28 |
I would love to see the Queen versions of Man Made Paradise, Love Kills, Man On Fire and Love Making Love on the new album. My money's on Let Me Into Your Heart. Fingers crossed |

and Let Me Live had three female backing singers - and that turned out pretty good - apart from Brian's verse which sounded a little weak |

Kerry will defintely keep Brian busy with the Candlelight concerts. Can't see her doing any vocals on a Queen album. She does have her own life and career. |

I personally can't stand Michael Jackson,i have none of his music. On the other hand i like Kerry Ellis and really enjoyed the Brian Kerry tour. She does a great rendition of Somebody to love with Brian. If the album does have MJ on it is a sure no1 album the world over because of all the MJ fans who are sure to buy it. |

Brian has already said they are working on a track from 93' so my bet is Let Me In Your Heart Again, the Queen version has never been finished, As for Kerry singing with them I can't see why Roger would have an issue? I don't care so long as we get new 'Queen' tracks |

I've got no problem with Kerry getting involved with the Queen album, backing vocals or duet with Freddie, did we all freak when he duetted with Montserrat ? Kerry has a great voice and I've enjoyed what she's done with Brian so far, I think we all get a little too insular thinking it must be only the original 4 members on this album, if it's a good album, it's a good album, full stop !!! |
Martin Packer 30.01.2014 12:07 |
I have confidence that if Kerry Ellis is involved it won't be a way to promote her career. (Or at least not significantly so.) Now whether that means she should just sing backing vocals or perhaps sing lead once I'm not too sure. No harm in a Queen+ track, I'd say. I am more concerned to have an excellent album with lots of Freddie and Brian and Roger (and perhaps John). Stuff that detracts from that is bad and stuff that might not be just the four of them that enables it is still good. Whether MJ or KE or PR or (distantly) AL. |
cmsdrums 30.01.2014 13:46 |
To be fair though, whenever Brian and Roger play as Queen, they are always careful to list guest stars such as Paul Rodgers, Adam Lambert etc as additional artists and never as 'part' of Queen. I give them that for integrity above the likes of Sabbath, Purple, Whitesnake, Toto etc..etc... UK forum members will appreciate the reference if I refer to those bands as being akin to 'Trigger's Broom'. |

"Let Me In Your" is, I believe, from 1986-ish and IS complete. Greg Brooks said as much many years ago at Convention and I have no reason to disbelieve him. |
Togg 31.01.2014 05:51 |
Well, Brian confirmed the year of the track he and Roger had been working on recently and said it was as yet unheard outside the band and I guess the likes of Greg. They didnt say what they were doing to it so finished is presumably only if they still feel it is.... maybe just re-mixing who knows, but the time period is right so i am making an assumption |

What are the chances of them getting their hands on that elusive hangman track and all of those unworked gems from the 70's? along with such songs as silver salmon and polar bear, we will rock you fast or get the required licenses and let fans officially hear the very first tracks Freddie sung... I can hear music and Goin back... there are must be an album+ worth of complete songs such as these let alone the known youtube demos of the 1988-91 years that they recorded in studio over the years in good quality or to a point of not needing major work but haven't, a, been released as a b side or b, didn't make the light of day on the bonus discs 2011. I don't know...? is the much point in releasing those anyway? Lot of fans out there that would love to hear these tracks on a official Brian/Roger released cd regardless of if its a complete song or a instrumental demo. Just to give a rare insight into how songs where made and how hits started off... From a band whose band members each made multiple timeless hits such as We Will Rock you, Its a Kinda Magic, Bohem Rhap and ABTD through to the hidden gems such as liar, millionaires waltz, you and I.... |

I've been wondering lately whether a Queen version of The Great Pretender would be good on a new album. Or, would it be going against their thing about not doing cover songs on albums? (The three reworks of FM & Cross songs on MiH sort of are covers, but at least they were written by band members) |

Roger and Brian have both put more than one cover on a solo album each, and with Paul Rodgers they also had 'Runaway' as an extra track on 'The Cosmos Rocks. I think with Queen originally they simply didn't need to include covers as they more often than not had enough original material to work with, but that may not be the case now. |
Martin Packer 05.02.2014 11:10 |
In the early days I think they were trying to establish their bona fides as serious artists. So they (mostly) wrote all their own stuff. Later on the need to do that faded. But they still had more than enough material to not want to sacrifice any for cover versions. |

As someone else said, it would be great if they would erase MJ off of any tracks they are planning to use, and either mix it a different way, or have Roger or Brian stand in for the MJ parts. |

There's too much money to be made for that with all those American MJ fans, I would think. At least for now. |
