Would anyone like to come to my house next Monday evening, about 6-ish, for sandwiches and homemade trifle, and other wondrous English things - including tea made in a teapot, not in the mug, and with tea leaves, not bags. Don't rush. Be calm. Just peaceful niceness, general serenity, quiet and nothing noisy or irritating, is all that's on offer. Bring something nice. |
inu-liger 22.01.2014 19:33 |
If you can get me a plane ticket and convince my boss to allow time off, sure :-P |
gooddrills 22.01.2014 20:28 |
That sounds spiffing old boy. Sadly the travel time from New Zealand to England means I may be a tad late and anything I make to bring will be spoilt. A half way meet perhaps? |
gooddrills 22.01.2014 20:29 |
Oh and I miss proper tea, they just don't get it down here, it's like normal tea that's been filtered several times to remove all the flavour |

Hi Greg I have been a Queen fan over many years, and I have today registered on the Queenzone site. For some reason Queenzone thinks I am Canadian(!) but actually I live in the South East of England near London! It would be a real pleasure to meet you as Queen's archivist even if it is not next Monday but sometime in the future. I realise that you are being very generous by inviting complete strangers into your home to potentially chat about things, so please ideally let me know in advance if you already have a 'full house' before I begin making the journey on Monday. In addition please let me know as to whether you enjoy alcohol or not and if so (or not), what else do you like in terms of food and beverages? Perhaps you can drop me a message back to let me know if this is still possible on Monday and perhaps you could clarify further details. Many thanks |

Hi Greg Just following on from my earlier message, I lead quite a busy life, and something else has cropped up tomorrow which I need to attend to, and so it now looks like I am not going to be able to meet you and other fans tomorrow which is a real shame. One thing I wanted to thank you for was the 'Queen Live - A Concert Documentary' book which is a book I purchased 15+ years ago and which I refer to quite a bit. Thanks again for this - it is a great book, and thanks also for your other work for Queen Productions. Kind regards |

Many thanksHey there dragonfly.trumpeter.... nice response, thank you very much. But don't make the journey until this event is fully sorted, because it might not happen. It depends upon many things which are currently being looked into... Malted Milk biscuits, Battenberg cake, Jaffa cakes, Victoria sponge, wine, green tea, lack of chairs, my dog is a bit vicious with visitors, my teapot is cracked a bit, my tea strainer has holes in it, I only have 4 spoons - to share between 44 people (11 people have to share)... you see some of the logistical problems involved in organising an event of this magnitude. Please hold fire there until it's all sorted - and I have a new table cloth. In the meantime, perhaps you could look into how to make Banoffee pie and/or Pavlova. Both, in fact. Take it steady dragonfly.trumpeter |

Thanks again for this - it is a great book, and thanks also for your other work for Queen Productions. Kind regardsDear dragonfly.trumpeter... You sound like a very nice and genuine person, and a REAL Queen fan. My suggestion of coming to my house for English tea last week, was really only a little friendly joke - just a bit of fun, not very serious. Sometimes in the past I have had some bad feeling or arguments here on QZ, or somebody getting annoyed because I use this 'serious' forum for things that other people think are not serious.... and so that's why I suggested a tea party on this Serious forum. Just a light-hearted joke. BUT... several people have written to me personally, and said "Why don't you organise this properly Greg." Somebody just wrote and said... it could be a big open space in London, with blankets on the ground, food, wine, cake, biscuits (they all have to be English though)... and we share Queen stories and have a good laugh. (thanks Kamca) Maybe it could be at Knebworth House, on that lovely big field there - the scene of Queen's final concert? So.... I might do. I will have a word with Jacky Smith at the Fan Club and see if she likes the idea of a Big Queen English Tea Party in London, just for the fun of it, and so that fans like you can get together and share things.... or look at sorting something myself if she's not keen. Leave it with me. What do you think dragonfly.trumpeter? Maybe we should do this for real. |

PLEASE DO NOT CIRCULATE THIS MESSAGE TO ANY PERSON UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN GRANTED THE SECURITY PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS THIS CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. Dear Greg Thank you for your messages. The point I really wanted to make to you was that in my opinion I am genetically identical to the agent who was known as Freddie Mercury in Queen. I have also had a back operation which I believe makes me bionic, and an education which was excessively expensive covering most if not all of the relevant areas relating to National Security. I believe that fronting Queen is the job I am designed to do and this is why I was eager to have a meeting with you to see if their was an indication from you as to whether this might be possible. I believe that taking into account my genetics, bionics and education, I cannot see any case for Adam Lambert being the front man in Queen and the choice of Adam Lambert fronting Queen is against international public policy in the circumstances. Perhaps you, or a representative of Queen can email me privately if there is a possibility of me fronting the band in the future and the band would like to have a meeting to discuss this. I will not be offended if there isn't an opportunity for me to front Queen, but if I don't receive an email in relation to this by 27 February 2014, then I will be making other arrangements with an alternative band. Kind regards Graham |
cmsdrums 04.02.2014 05:25 |
A most reasonable argument Graham, but Greg isn't going to be in a position to influence who the band choose as vocalist; try Brian, Roger or Jim Beach.... |

PLEASE DO NOT CIRCULATE THIS MESSAGE TO ANY PERSON UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN GRANTED THE SECURITY PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS THIS CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. To tell you the truth I am fed up seeing artists who may have nothing to do with Queen taking intellectual property from Freddie Mercury's estate without (I assume) paying the full commercial value for this. This leaves anyone who takes advantage of Freddie Mercury's intellectual property open to litigation in the future if they have not paid the commercial value for using Queen and Freddie Mercury's intellectual property. For example if your parents died, would you let Paul Rodgers or Adam Lambert live in a house which is part of your deceased parents estate, without them paying any rent for this, particularly if they devalue the property whilst living in it, i.e. devaluing the brand or structurally damaging the property whilst also benefiting from living in a property which may cost £30 million a month to rent on the open market. How much precisely has Paul Rodgers paid back to Freddie's estate for playing with Queen when on the open market the cost for this could be as much as £10 million an evening given the publicity and advertising and what it costs to hire a famous band on the open market without advertising? What exactly has someone like Paul Rodgers actually contributed back to Freddie's estate, and what payments have gone back to the estate for all the artists who have played with Queen in the past since Freddie's death? I am really fucked off about the way Freddie's estate has been treated since he died. It is like I am just a commodity and every fucking cunt who knows little to nothing can take all my property without paying for it. I am absolutely sick of it, and if I don't hear back from Queen by 27 February 2014 on my private email, then I will be using either Guns and Roses or The Who's infrastructure, but Queen will still be open to litigation in the future. |
dragonfly.trumpeter 61319 06.02.2014 15:39 |
Who the fuck would be Adam Lambert's lawyers in the current climate and are they brain damaged or lacking mental capacity? Does Adam Lambert want to be sued for as much as £50 million for his work with Queen so far, for using intellectual property from Freddie Mercury's estate based on what he has done with Queen so far? What exactly makes his lawyers "professional" when it comes to a professional indemnity insurance return disclosure and who in the world would insure Adam Lambert's lawyers unless they are fucking mental given that I am a clone of Freddie Mercury and I have had a legal opinion on this from a law firm representing the Government. Do Adam Lambert's lawyers want to be made bankrupt as well as Adam Lambert himself? |
