Noticed this came up when I did a pirate search for a song I've bought 12x (the works, picture disc, single, greatest hits 2, a queen collection, live magic, live Wembley; cd, vhs, 2x dvd [yes they got me eventually with Friday night's show], karaoke collection 1: Hollywood records, not to mention all the tens of times I've played it on the jukebox ($1/each generally) at my favorite tavern.
Guess the song?
*(I think I'm entitled to nab it ONCE so I can listen to it on my phone)
So anyway this comes up.
"ROCKABYE BABY! : the lullaby music of queen" link
I've always had a respect for people who do these light arrangements (and the marvelous soloists who do the opposite and perform the song in its entirety on ONE instrument)
I've heard the aforementioned song. It doesn't sound bad.
Just thought I'd bring this to light in case anybody here has children.
It's silly but hopefully licensed.
Haha
*ps, forgot to mention buying it on live at Rio, Greatest Flix 2 (import vhs before it was available in the states), Classic Queen vhs, Greatest hits I & ii, the platinum collection, as well as Greatest hits ii dvd....
God, those Bastards got my money!
I can confirm that I bought this for my Son before he was born.
It is excellent for what it is and he is now 4 and loves Queen (not like he had a choice, lol).
His favourite Queen songs so far are 'We Will Rock You' (slow and fast) 'We Are The Champions', 'Ride The Wild Wind', 'The Show Must Go On' and 'Now Im Here' (live).
My second Son is was to be born on 04/01/2014 but my Wife is overdue but will certainly be digging the CD out again and starting him off the right way with good music.
It was Radio Ga Ga.
As a matter of fact it's also on the QPR albums/dvds.... dang
Well, for the forum's sake I did a search for it. Didn't know about it. I just looked at the copyright and assumed it was a recent collection.
Not to belabor the point anymore, because I know this isn't the point anyway of the thread, but the reason I thought it was Hammer to Fall was because I always thought that It's A Hard Life was the first Queen single to have a picture disc.
What the he.... hmmm. .. you may be right.
I have an "it's a hard life" pd, invisible man pd, I'm going slightly mad pd, and I THOUGHT I had a radio ga ga pd. Plenty of other various interviews etc
If your suggestion is correct I may be mistaken. The stuff is in storage at the moment :-(
I think you're absolutely right.
Geez. No ga ga picture disc in existence is there?
Oy. 12 boxes of vinyl will confuse your brain sometimes
I have that CD as well. It is very good, overall. Saying my baby boy liked it would be more the Queen fan in me talking, really, hehe :) but I like it, though.
The only thing that bothered me a bit is that the "Why, why, whyyyyy?" segment in Under Pressure is cut. It goes straight into the "Why can't we give ourselves one more chance" part.
I just listened to their "highway to hell" version... has NONE of the feeling at all except the chorus. ... not good. But! Their karma police version ain't so bad
I've gotta check out the rest of the compilation.
Also nabbed this one, after purchasing same songs over multi formats numerous times - tape, cd - all issues, lp, laser disc, video cd, vhs, beta, md, vhd, ced, 12", 7" and of course 8 track.
i have a two year old who loves seaside rendezvous because she sees Blackpool tower on the video of the song. She can't go to sleep without listening to her queen playlist.
my 6 month old has long since started to recognise the beginning of bohemian rhapsody.
love this baby version of songs and so do my kids. Very soothing :)
