I copy/paste the question and answer where the "doll’s house" is mentioned.
"Chuck asked what I (Pheobe) did during a show."
"Generally all shows ran the same, but there was the time when Freddie fell on stage in Hanover and Terry and I ran out to bring him to the ‘doll’s house’ at the side of the stage, before we carried him back and set him at the piano stool to finish a few more songs before being examined at hospital. "
Stelios, Queen had a small area just off stage to change clothes, rest during solo spots etc during gigs. It was nicknamed the dolls house and was out of the audiences view. A small private area to take a break, grab a drink during the gig.
Yes Woody is correct. The Dolls House was tent area made from black drapes. It was normally situated on JD's side of the stage situated behind the back line or sometimes further back, inline with Freddies piano monitor cabs.
Yes. Seems like a pretty obvious analogy.
Dolls change (according to their owners) to get "prettied up"... this is just a funny way of putting things. Playful, descriptive, appropriate.
