was thinking about this lately, what is your most underrated Queen song? mine is Was It All Worth It. Has awesome guitar riff, lots of orchestral changes, and could have been Freddie's swan song being the last song on the Miracle, if he didn't live longer... |

You Don't Fool Me. Very melodic, yet quite melancholic at the same time. Sounds a bit like AKOM in its simplicity, but avoids sounding plastic at the same time. Incredible Brian May guitar playing, which adds poignancy to the song, the same way it did for BoRhap (!). Many will disagree, but I like the video too. I know for a fact it brought it to non-Queen audiences. Great song. I do like Machines as well, it's a little experimental, but quite rocky at the same time. Has a good momentum. Very good vocals on both, although each song is sung in a very different way. |

See, if it weren't for Adam, I would've never heard this awesome song. Adam is keeping your beloved music alive and introducing it to more people than who would otherwise not have hard it. |

Leaving Home Ain't Easy because it's great and really was given a lowly rating on the polls that were done on here a while ago. Dragon Attack is another ripper, but probably gets a much higher rating by fans I think. |

I never had the chance to record with "Queen", so I don't know. I never joined a boy band of gay sexpots, never was a lip sync plastic pop star, nor was I as short and ugly as the least talented of the seven dwarfs. "Crappy" comes to mind. ... But in case you phrased it wrong. .. . What is my favorite underappreciated QUEEN song? First thing to mind (I'll pick four) 1: It's Late 2. Prophet's Song 3. I'm Going Slightly Mad 4. You Don't Fool Me Death on two legs should be as well. That menacing ugly bitter but beautiful song should be known by every hard rock fan. Too bad the people at qpl don't think so and rank their appreciation of Freddie' s genius upon his 80's gay cliché appearance and posturing. Imho: he outdid most of the seventies "rock gods" onstage possibly excepting Robert Plant .... but Fred's instrumentation exceeded what Plant did onstage. IF ONLY THERE WAS SOMETHING TO SHOW THE PUBLIC TO RECOGNIZE THAT LEGACY (You fumbling doofus fart mother fuckers) [Qpl] |

Dragon Attack. Should've been released as a single. |
noorie 07.11.2013 09:42 |
I think almost every song on their first 3 albums is under-rated. Some amazing songs there! White Queen, March of the Black Queen, Ogre Battle, The night comes down, Brighton Rock, Stone Cold Crazy, Bring back that Leroy Brown, Lap of the Gods... Tenement Funster...? I could go on and on. And of course Death on Two legs, and Dragon Attack. A really difficult choice since most people are only aware of Queen's 'Greatest Hits', and the rest are pretty under-rated.. |

PrimeJiveUSA 09.11.2013 13:20 |
Yes..."Play The Game" is one of their best ever songs. Look, if you think the recognition of so much of Queen's work is lacking over there in Europe, you would be aghast at what it is here in the U.S.! Only 4 songs get any type of regular play over here 1.)AOBTD 2.)Bohemian Rhapsody 3.)WWRY/WATC.4.)Under Pressure Only on occasion will you here KQ/YMBF/STL/TYMD/FBG/CLTCL/KYA. That's it. Nothing else...not a song past 1981 and never any deep cuts. Other acts like Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin/AC-DC get all kinds of deep album tracks played by them but not Queen. It's extremely frustrating because most Americans think that Queen were simply the band that featured in Waynes World and came up with a STOMP-STOMP-CLAP sports anthem. |

Need Your Loving Tonight used to be played often, too. |

It's much more of a whole, whereas you can clearly hear how Boh Rhap was constructed from completely separate song-ideas. I wholeheartedly agree that this is Queen's most underrated song amongst the general populace. I don't think it's my all-time favorite Queen song, though... |

Many good choices in this thread, but I noticed many of you choose songs from the first few albums. As much as I love most of these choices, I do think the songs got the recognition, simply because of both critical and public acclaim of most of their 70's albums, on both sides of the Atlantic. I do think that some of their later stuff was overlooked though and could add Slightly Mad and Las Palabras to my selections. Great songs, imo. |

The Hero. What a shame that this has not been released as a Single, not even included on Queen Rocks or on Deep Cuts II. I think it is one of their best rock songs and a great vocal performance by Freddie. I also love the revisited version which was included on the deluxe release 2011. |

my real vote goes for Scandal. It seems to me strange how Brian May on the DVD for Greatest Hits 2 makes a remark wich goes like " not that i think that much ( good) for the song" . I expected Brian to defend more his creation because its autobiographical , has great guitar work / keybord arragments and PLUS Freddie's voice sounds divine and totally electric. Also the video for me is the first showcase of Freddie in his heroic decline, strugling between power and weekness. The resault is that he seems more bad-ass than previous videos becouse there is a new maturity that goes along with his new inner and outside scars. If we talk about impact Scandal really holds its ground. |

There are so many to choose since public opinion only calls for DSMN, Break Free and WWRY because the former two are poppy enough for modern ears and the latter's instantly connected to sport. But regardless, just from the UK top 40 singles I'd pick Slightly Mad, You Don't Fool Me, Headlong, Now I'm Here, A Winter's Tale and (cue the gasps of surprise) Bo Rhap. |
