Nice find, thanks for posting it.
That beautiful line alone sets the tone to the full "Made in Heaven" record. Great o hear the inspiration behind it. It's perfect!

nice that freddie went back to his classical influences
Not sure if it was Mercury's doing. As far as we know it was just an unfinished demo from 1980 that Bri/Rog/John turned into a song. Something tells me it'd be Brian who picked this out. After all, the melody of We Will Rock You is a much quicker version of a passage from Aaron Copland's Fanfare For The Common Man. One or both could just be coincidences, or perhaps something that was lingering inside him without even realizing it came from somewhere. Who knows (maybe not even him).
Well, John was also into classical music, wasn't he the one who suggested the intro to It's a Hard life by coping it after an aria from Leoncavallo's Pagliacci (aria : Vesti La Giubba).... So maybe it is his input...

Brian said about a decade ago on his website that the inclusion of the musical quote on IABD had been John's idea. So there you have it, it wasn't the doctor.

No, he wasn't - Freddie added that part in. Freddie was a huge Pavarotti fan, and one of Pavarotti's most famous roles was that one.
