Been listening to a recording from the São Paulo March 20 1981 gig and I was wondering what you guys think about the existence of a stereo soundboard mix from this show without the radio voice overs. I was also thinking about the Japan May 11 1985 gig with the accompanying video that has been heavily bootlegged and also Houston 77.
I guess what I'm getting at is we can be pretty sure for gigs like these that multi-tracks don't exist but possibly good stereo soundboard mixes do. And to put those mixes with video footage from the gigs would still make a great release. And I know a lot of great people on here have done just that with what is available to us but it would be awesome if we could get them in the best possible quality from the queen archives.
I know QP likes to ideally work with concerts with multitracks but I hope that great gigs like the ones mentioned above will get a proper release one day that brings together the best elements they have even if they can't be overdubbed etc. Thoughts?
Although they released Japan 85 it a few years ago officially, still with the original crappy mix and no remastered picture (and poor artwork, no extras etc), this seemed to be a very last minute decision to just capitalise on the unexpected success of a couple of tracks being used in Japanese TV ads. I'd be suprised if multitrack audio isn't held in the archives for that gig (they have Rio).
Here is my doulbe CD Pack from 1992.
Tokio 11 th May 1985

Nice one. That's definitely one of the most attractive looking bootlegs ever produced, and for any band, not just Queen.
Yeah one of the reasons I bought it back in the days. The condition of it is getting weaker- 21 years now and its made out of thick paper. Prize was about 65 Deutsch Mark - very expensive for a bootleg.
