Firstly thanks to Kurgan for the source. He is also the one responsible for this video. So blame him if it's shite :D ---- Edit: There's a flaw in my video. I watched it today with fresh look. While I removed the white ghost, I created a black ghost instead, lol. Although it's not as much noticable but in some parts it becomes quite apparent. Maybe don't download this lol. It was just sort of test anyway. ---- Let's get on with this. It's kinda hit or miss with such poor quality videos. Very often once you fix one issue another one appears. So sometimes fixing it all may end up making the video look a bit unnatural. For example, my friend is making Asian martial arts film DVDs for his own pleasure and for sharing. I cleaned film dirt and spots for Bruce Lee film's The Big Boss trailer. Anyone interested click here to take a look at the comparison picture. He said - "it's great, but it doesn't look like 70s old film anymore. It looks to processed and reminds a bit of painting. I'll probably use the original for authenticity." Why am I telling this? Because some of you may prefer the original at the end. I guess it's a matter of taste this time. Plus I've watched this video and worked on it for literally all day so I won't be able to take a fresh look at it for a while yet. So you be the judge. What I've done: 1. Reduced this fat black outline on Freddie's right side of his silhouette. link alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/> 2. Fixed these slight colour blocks. link alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/> 3. Removed the "9" logo. It's hardly noticable because it's dark in the corner for most of the time, so it works well. I didn't remove the "QUEEN" logo because it would leave too much blur. 4. "Exorcised" the white ghost :D link alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/> 5. Reduced these horizontal lines. link alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/> Advanced technical info: http://tny.cz/db2f2d5b It's also on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P--WKxkS33g Links: http://hrln1g.1fichier.com/en/ or https://mega.co.nz/#!DZt3xZoa!Zn8Mo2Tmn3yOIpFakji_6QjSpkkSJ-SrhUPrQeWSGy4 Enjoy and don't re-compress it! :-) |

Very nice done, as always, thank you! :) |

I think, the result is really great! Hopefully the whole concert will be processed in such way. |

Thanks. Kurgan asked me "is this improvable?", I say yes it is :-) That's main point of this thread. Not sure though I would bother with full concert. This source seems to be better although it's softer http://www.queenconcerts.com/queenzone/1355722.html Also there's a flaw in my video. I watched it today with fresh look. While I removed the white ghost, I created a black ghost instead, lol. Although it's not as much noticable but in some parts it becomes quite apparent. Maybe don't download this lol. It was just sort of test anyway. |

Well - again Exorcist? This filter looks VERY interesting, you achieve with it much BETTER results than I did with tons of other filters, I have to try it. Thanks for this video |

pittrek wrote: Well - again Exorcist? This filter looks VERY interesting, you achieve with it much BETTER results than I did with tons of other filters, I have to try it. Thanks for this video Yes. But it's not perfect at all, because as I said it creates black ghost instead to overcome the white one :( But for this particular video it fairly works because the background is mostly dark anyway. There is also a VD filter called Ghost Remover that works the same way. On AVISynth there is a plugin called Ghost Buster, but only in YUY2 colour space. Basically what you're doing is this. You fix the ghost with the picture itself. You take the picture and move it horizontally. You can either darken or brighten, depends on the ghost. link alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/> So here I brightened up a lot my version. You see I didn't really remove the white ghost, I just made it into a dark ghost lol. So when the background is not fully black it can be noticed. Although I think for this video it's still better this way than the white ghost which is way more noticable. link alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/> |

nice work! :D |

Thanks for trying, it doesn't look bad but I don't like the blur where the 9 was. I'm planning on making a better (higher bitrate) transfer in the future anyway. |

Most of the links in post #1 have expired, and YouTube immediately block the new transfer I made of AOBTD, so here is the raw interlaced PAL VOB file: https://wetransfer.com/downloads/dcc70e089bd0e030de7f57dc005c738120170210124904/8ec7d8 Here is a YouTube clip I uploaded from the new transfer - Intro and WWRY: |

Thanks, but it's way too dark for my liking. |
Bob Harley 01.03.2017 09:27 |
I don't know why do you think it's too dark. It's grey when you compare it to pure black color: link |
. 01.03.2017 09:31 |
It looks very dark on my monitor as well, the original file is much lighter. It depends what the monitor settings are I guess. |

Thanks to Kurgan - and I can't remember what was his video upload that started me off - but last night I spent about 5 hours watching Freddie's 100 Funniest interviews type videos on youtube and now am totally in love with him all over again like when I was 7. Just thought I'd let you know. |

As all the best YouTube rabbit holes begin.. I just don't know :) But yeah I loved seeing the full clip of that. John really angry about the cancellation. Me and my pal always do the Freddie bit in the pub (like saddos) since we first saw it on the Magic Years back in '87 |

Can someone re-upload this one? |
. 26.07.2020 18:33 |
My raw file was provided as a test file, I can re-upload that if you want it. I do not have the processed file. |
Unniendo 27.07.2020 16:06 |
I think this is your original raw file without processed? link |
. 27.07.2020 21:35 |
No, that's actually the de-interlaced and processed AVI file shared earlier in the thread by Bob Harley. My original file was a raw interlaced VOB. |
