Of course that doesn't mean he's an insider. Anyone could have trawled here and/or QOL and come to a similar conclusion. Let's see: Mention of a Ballad compilation Mention of Freddie/Michael Tracks Mention of Christmas release by William Orbit BOOM there you go. Queen MUST be releasing a ballad compilation with the FM/MJ tracks at Christmas time! The only thing this person has done is to put bits of info together and come up with a theoretical story. It might very well be exactly the way it happens but it didn't sound to me like this guy had any insider info. |

It's a good thing to analyse all possibilities.....my guess we will hear 4 new songs in totaal. Three MJ+FM songs + one new song. Probably Let me in your heart again. I'm almost sure of that 99%...??? More new songs, or reworked well-known ones are more than welcome of course. |
soxtalon 12.08.2013 09:09 |
I am highly doubtful we get Victory. I wouldn't be surprised to get the other 2 MJ tracks and one Queen track such as Let Me In but from everything I've heard Victory had no shot. Things could have changed but I would be shocked if Victory was included. |
MrFunster 12.08.2013 09:16 |
On Brian's website has been mentioned 3 tracks, this is a little strange then...we shall see ! |
soxtalon 12.08.2013 11:34 |
I don't believe Brian ever said they were working on all 3 FM/MJ tracks. Without going back over to re-read, he's only said a few tracks (which could be 2). He did say he went to work on another Queen tracks...perhaps he implied that they had been working on 3 tracks total (2 FM/MJ, 1 simply Queen). The other possibility is that Brian said that FM/MJ recorded 3 tracks. Because the only time I have ever seen any suggestions that they are working on all 3 tracks from FM/MJ is from a few news reports which seemed to take: 3 tracks recorded by FM/MJ + BM/RT working on some tracks that FM/MJ recorded on ______ Queen + MJ will be all 3 tracks. Not necessarily true |
inu-liger 12.08.2013 12:09 |
Indeed, it's been the media moreso pushing the "3" FM/MJ tracks without actual official confirmation from either QPL or MJ's Estate. Brian is deliberately vague for a reason or two. |

SO will this compilation follow the same format as "Queen Rocks" which was a compilation of hard rock songs with a ballad at the end of it (the new classic song "No One But You (Only The Good Die Young") and have the songs that are new on it be heavy rocking songs? Or perhaps one of them? Hmmmm.... |

To sum up what was sad by GB, GT and a couple of different "insider" sources : - a ballad album was planned for the Christmas market - a single from it was planned for this autumn - a ballad from Anita Dobson's album was originally a Queen song, a recording with Freddie on vocals exists and should be released "one day" - an album with "new" Freddie recordings should be released (UNKNOWN number of new Freddie recordings, there can be only one) - FM & MJ recorded 3 tracks together, Brian & Roger have worked on them several years ago, and this year they continued working on them with that Madonna producer (what's his name again?) - the FM&MJ tracks will be released (NOBODY has officially said HOW MANY of them, in WHICH FORM, or WHEN will they be released AFAIK) We really KNOW nothing. The people could talk all about the same album, or they can be talking about 2 or 3 DIFFERENT things. I will personally wait for an official press release. Even that means nothing of course. We should get a BBC box set in 1995(or was it 96?), a new Queen album in 1999, a Robbie Williams album (all we got was a cover of WATC), Hammersmith Odeon on DVD in 2005, 2009 and 2011, remasters of the live albums in 2011, 2012 and 2013, Rainbow in 2011, 2012, 2013 ... In other words - I will believe it when I hold it in my hands. |
soxtalon 12.08.2013 13:13 |
Absolutely. The producer's name is William Orbit. - HE stated A Christmas release which is the only source for that. |

@ pittrek: I'm pretty sure it was stated by Greg at this year's UK fan club convention |

Queen1973 wrote: Omg a queen album didnt i get slagged off about this last month>>If it makes you feel any better, I got slagged off a few times spread throughout the last 10 years for advocating Blu-ray Audio releases, which NOW is finally happening with next month's BD release of ANATO. Pretty sure I might have also been slagged off a bit for throwing my weight in support of upscaled BD video releases, again something that's also starting next month with the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert 'SD' BD release :-) Let these people get eggs on their faces if it happens :-) :-) |

Hopefully they will now go past ANATO. |
inu-liger 13.08.2013 00:12 |
Oh god, 5.1 MIDI remixes lol. I'm surprised I wasn't on drugs, cos I sure as hell don't know what the hell I was thinking way back then XD That being said, I'm in a much better position, equipment and VST wise, to make that happen, if only theoretically speaking. Realistically though, I've got too many other things to worry about, so I doubt that will ever happen :-) Anyways, back on topic... |

"In other words - I will believe it when I hold it in my hands." Yes Pittrek, your skepticism is well-founded! So many 'projections' unfulfilled promises of which we are all aware. Time will tell folks! Back to some chocolate, finish that glass of red and a good coffee! |

pittrek wrote: In other words - I will believe it when I hold it in my hands. That's a good point. Promises are those things that are easy to be broken. According to our sad experience, it is pretty possible that something like Rainbow, for instance, might be kept in the archives for another ten years or so until it finally sees the light of day. But if it's already been explained that the work on Rainbow WAS started sometime in the past and it IS still on the agenda these days, I am more than happy to believe that it will indeed be released sometime soon. And I don't blame anyone for anything. Just saying. |

Classic Rock Interview soundbites: CR: Let's cut straight to the chase, Roger - What is the status of Queen right now? RT: I'm still in the band, but there's only two of us left, Brian and myself. And only one of us can walk! We still run the brand - that's what it is these days. CR: There were rumors in 2011 of a new Queen album, based on 'lost' demos of Freddie's RT: Not true. We wouldn't want to put out an album of demos anyway. CR: Are there any remaining Queen songs, recorded with Freddie, which might be released in the future? RT: Yes, there's a couple of tracks. Brian and I are going to work on them. One of them we all worked on, the other was mainly a Brian song. CR: Were both songs written near the end of your time with Freddie? RT: Actually, no. They're quite old. I'm not bigging them up or anything, but yes there are a couple of things that we're going to finish, and I dare say they will cmoe out. CR: Are there any plans to record another Queen album RT: Universal wants us to put together an album of the slower songs that people don't know so well, so I'm compiling that this week with Brian. ------------------- MJ tracks were NOT mentioned specifically. 2 songs specifically mentioned. The Brian song - would most likely be Let Me IN. The song they all worked on could be There Must Be More To Life... I wonder if the ballad collection has 2 bonus tracks - Let Me In and There Must Be More To Life leaving State of Shock for an MJ collection of sorts. |

How many slower songs we don't know so well?:-) |
cmsdrums 15.08.2013 03:36 |
You could almost read that as there are two Queen only songs (one of which is mainly Brian), and then the MJ & FM tracks are in addition; I'm expecting two tracks but now hoping for four! |
