...and it won't be long before he wears this one out too!!!
the last ten years' worth of "knee-jerk" reactions to everything and anything - mustt've finally taken its toll
i expect he'll need spinal and nasal surgery soon - cos just about everything these day's "get's his back up" and "puts his nose out of joint"
:-)

Ouch!
Send that to his soapbox, I DARE you .......
I think he's being a bit optomistic if he thinks he'll be OK for the AL gig in the US.
A new knee isn't like have a tooth out.
(at least that's what my two doctor friends tell me).
It's not a minor surgery, my work mate just had both knee's replaced and he's been in fucking agony. He's a tough bastard and even he said he wouldn't wish it on anybody. That was a full knee replacement though, I don't know what Brian has had exactly

Brian got conned if he thought this was going to be a simple 'pop a new knee in and I'll be doing star jumps with the best of them'.
If they do any gigs soon, we're either going to see him on a stool or a Judy Garland-dose of painkillers.
I wonder what he had done exactly. I had all my meniscus removed, and a new Anterior Cruciate constructed from bits of my hamstring, and then screwed into my knee, I was up and walking in 2 weeks and without a limp in 4 weeks. The guy next to me was about Brian's age and had a full knee replacement, I saw him at physio 2 months later and he was only just getting to being able to walk unassisted.
Yeah, it does depend on what exactly has been done.
What does he mean by 'a shiny new knee' ? Whatever, his age is against him.
Fuck, I'm 50 and creaking so 4 years from 70 doesn't look good.
Brian does look good for his age. He has worked super hard all his life. The man hardly sleeps. He's always working. Combines all of his passions into work he does. As a musician, scientist, activist etc.
All retards with their big 'funny' mouths overhere: what have you done with your lives? Congrats on your new knee mr. May! Good luck with the recovery!

bit extreme calling people retards for a bit of light-hearted joshing...think YOU are the one behaving like a "retard"
this section is "general discussion" not "serious discussion" - therefore that by definition allows for a little levity surely?
get over yourself,

Always a gentleman. That Brenski dude... what a character! Who needs fans like that?
Excellent post. I think you are on it. But still, he may be sitting at Las Vegas gig. I would a thousand times rather see him do the gig than cancel it, and so even if he performs in a hammock, it is preferred to not performing at all.
Go, Dr. Brian, go!

yeah! - cos rock stars really care if you like them as a person? -knob off! - they care that you use YOUR money on buying their music and coming to their gigs.
you seem incapable of separating a liking of the music and a liking for the person making the music. they can be exclusive of each other!
you don't have to like the man to actually like most of his music.

and as you seem so anti anyone having a laugh, here's another quote just for you: “Humanity takes itself too seriously. It is the world’s original sin. If the cave-man had known how to laugh, History would have been different.” - Oscar Wilde
