They are playing for 45 mins, so in sure it will only be the better known/most popular The Cross songs |
thefallenqueen 08.08.2013 16:10 |
think they're gonna play the best tracks of their long-time No.1 Greatest Hits album...! |

I know I'm dreaming here, but I hope this is to see if a full reunion is possible. Roger's voice still sounds awesome despite his lighter drumming due to age. It is now the download era and perhaps renaming the group as "Roger Taylor and The Cross" might help sell better than the German only CD release of Blue Rock in 1991 and the quick deletion. Dare to dream I guess. If it sounds too good to be true right? |

Only two days to go, I'm looking forward to this. |

I wouldn't mind The Cross backing Roger for a Fun On Earth tour! :) |
. 06.12.2013 04:02 |
The venue says the gig is scheduled to end at 23:15 and could run on later. Seeing as my last train is at 23:39 I would have to leave at 23:15 to get to the station on time. This means I could miss the end of the gig : ( |
brians wig 06.12.2013 05:44 |
The Cross may be the final billing, but then the SAS band always do a couple of all star finale songs at the end, so if you're lucky.... |
. 06.12.2013 06:00 |
^ I was kind of hoping that might be the case at least. Mr T will be part of the finale though. |

People there will be high as a kite from seeing the band, and you just may catch someone in a generous mood who won't mind going a half hour out of their way. Stranger things have happened :-) |

Really looking forward to seeing The Cross reunite tomorrow night, but what a pity it's part of a SAS Band gig!! Seems I'll have to watch a load of shite I have no interest in (2 supports in the shape of an opera duo and 3 theatre singers, plus never beens backing has beens) just to see a 45 min set... |
Negative Creep 06.12.2013 18:04 |
Wonder how many sad arses/stalkers will be queuing all day. Most people grow out of such behaviour, but apparently not some "Queen fans". Seen one such type on Twitter who constantly tweets Kerry Ellis trying to send her gifts and has gone to every Brian May & Kerry Ellis show on their last tour. That is just scary. |

Not a bad gig. It was a toss up between getting a good recording or going for the front row. The lure of the front row won out I'm afraid, so my recording is a bit distorted! (There will be better I'm certain) Roger didn't have any new purple shoes, but he did have some red lurex ones! 'I'm old', he joked, when he missed out a song in the set. He also missed catching his tambourine. Drumsticks went out to right of stage, I was to the left! The set was about an hour long. In Charge Of My Heart Top Of The Word Ma New Dark Ages Man On Fire Ain't Put Nothin' Down (Clayton Moss on vocals) Liar (Peter Noone on vocals) Dirty Mind (Spike Edney on vocals) Cowboys And Indians Power To Love Heaven For Everyone Sister Blue Final Destination Finale: link I was there: link |

Watched the video footage, great stuff thank's for sharing, Thought Roger was magic, back at what he does best, singing his own song's, and very well done too.Wasn't too bothered about this gig, but o wish I had been there. Merry Xmas |
Vali 10.12.2013 08:28 |
wow, thanks to Marco Mercury for uploading the vid, and eYe for sharing it here ! fantastic, fantastic ... Roger and the band sounded great ! and as Queen Two says above, it's now that I regret not being there ! |

Why don't you start a queen+paulrodgers forum and put there all of your favorite stuff: the cross gigs, brian gigs, roger different versions etc? I'm bored of this queen related second class material. If there are no more queen boots to share, that's it. I'll listen the old ones. And there are a lot (THE LOT) thanks to sirgh, pittrek, masahiko, bokkepoot and others. |

Wow, that version of Dirty Mind without Roger just shows what a mediocre band they always were. Still, would've loved to been there to see Roger front his first "solo"-show in almost 15 years! |
aristide1 11.12.2013 07:25 |
Except for your emotional attachment to these side projects, i see no logical reason to describe them with words like "great stuff..", "magic...", "fantastic, fantastic..". Maybe it was magic and fantastic to be 30 years younger and to be in the audience, but the music itself is quite plain and is not aging well. |
Pim Derks 11.12.2013 13:47 |
Exactly. Now that I'm older and my music-taste is a lot broader I can see that that a lot of the solo-output - while definitely containing some awesome music - is pretty average, middle-of-the-road music. There was a time when I genuinely thought that especially MBADTK and Blue Rock were brilliant pieces of musicianship and songwriting. |

However, criticising others for liking it or sharing it, and requesting them to share it elsewhere because YOU are bored of it is just crap. If you don't like it, then stay clear - the thread title will surely give you and idea of whether or not you'll be interested. Do you think anyone cares that you don't care? Simple answer is no. I don't particularly like The Cross too much, but it was still interesting to see how they performed together after all of these years. More importantly, someone had the decency to share their experience. Don't piss all over it. |

You' re a brave queenzonian thistleboy. Do not like the cross but defend the right of others to like them. "How exactly do you start a new forum, and why would you call it Queen+paulrodgers if it's for The Cross?" What happened with your original post? Not stupid enough? Or you edit all your posts every 2-3 days to keep them updated with your fluctuating state of mind. |

I don't go about editing my posts unless I've made a silly spelling error, a sentence didn't make sense once I reviewed it or I accidentally hit post without finishing my post. When I edit, it's an immediate edit....not 2-3 days later, like the one you've just made as that last paragraph wasn't on your original post. C'mon. |
