As opposed to what might appear to be a mutated mash up by Psy, this ladies and gentlemen is the REAL THING! Happy memories of watching this on late night TV back in early 1978 and being blown away; even Deacy's little bass solo drove me nuts. Pure bliss folks, just absolute, pure energy. Roger in particular was at a peak at this time. Thank you!! CDV |

It's not clear to me what this is. Can someone enlighten me as to what we're talking about? Who or what is JSS? Justin Shirley Smith perhaps? And what did they share? |

mr mercury wrote:As our dear QZ'er Dave said, John S Stuart shared the BBC sessions from his collection, transfer from mini-disc and those versions sound better than any other version shared previously. Problem is mini-disc is lossy (less than mp3 but still) and this particular WWRY version sounds a bit clearer and it's indeed lossless.OwenSmith wrote: It's not clear to me what this is. Thanks for this. But I wouldn't be so quick to say it's an upgrade. It's just EQ'd a bit differently. The sound itself is no better or worse. |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 31.08.2013 12:06 |
Well The King Biscuit version is losless, has a lot less tape hiss , and to My ears is sounds lot more clearer. So I would say upgrade for sure. I listnend both versions back to back and for me this one (king b) is by far the better one. Due to the first point : losless/lossy technically the KB version is a upgrade as the other version is lossy. Of course beauty still lies in the eye of the beholder...and everyone can decide for them selves. I haven't shared here anything in a long time and thought this one was spectacular enough to share over here. |

I listened to both and I agree the King Biscuit version is much better. All sorts of detail is clear which is buried and virtually inaudible in the JSS version which has been through minidisc. Definitely an upgrade, so much so I bought the CD. |

Can you be more specific? I've got pretty good ears, as one of my trades is being an audio/mixing engineer... and I seriously don't hear a difference other than EQ. |

queenFoc wrote: Can anybody reupload the ENTIRE session from this CD? ThanksThe entire session is not on the CD, only the one track We Will Rock You. Another two tracks are on the 2CD 2011 remaster of News of the World, namely Spread Your Wings and My Melancholy Blues. For the remaining track It's Late the best source is still Jon Stuart's original share of the master tape copy via. MiniDisc. |
