Freddie Mercury's recordings with Michael Jackson are to be released in the autumn. Queen guitarist Brian May confirmed plans to unveil the previously unreleased duets later this year, The Times reports. Three tracks were recorded by Jackson and Mercury in 1983, and they will be made available for the first time in late September. May is quoted as saying that there will be "something for folks to hear" in two months' time. Jackson and Mercury worked together in California 30 years ago, but did not release a full collection as they were unable to find time to record more tracks. Mercury recorded a version of 'State of Shock' for the Thriller album, but it was later re-recorded with Mick Jagger as a Jacksons track. Queen's former manager Jim 'Miami' Beach recently said that the pair fell out after Jackson brought a llama into the studio. He said: "Mercury rang me and said: 'Miami, dear, can you get over here? You've got to get me out of here, I'm recording with a llama'." Sacha Baron Cohen has pulled out of the upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic, citing artistic differences between himself and the surviving Queen members. So this is including Victory, the only unknown track. Would be nice if this is a pre single to promote te new album which will hopefully include, let me in your heart again. This is very good news Brian, thank you very much. |

Very curious , The King and The Queen together. I can't wait to hear a better mix of 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' than the one on the net ! |

It's about time we get something new instead of another greatest hits, icon, absolute greatest etc etc etc.... |

I'm excited yet dubious. Something new from Queen is exciting but after listening to the 2 Freddie and Jackson tracks available on YouTube at present,I'm skeptical how they can possible make the tracks good. There must be more to life than this is far better with just Freddie vocals on Mr Bad Guy (sorry MJ fans,Jacko has an awful voice). And as for State of shock, that's a dreadful song! |

Agreed with what Jondickens1 said. There must be more to life than this is fine with Fred singing alone. State of Shock is deplorable and I can't see anything ever being one with that. I never could stand much of Jackson either. |

I am curiuous to hear Victory for the first time. The other songs are indeed less interesting, but still great to hear reworked material with Freddie again. Will Queen put these tracks on a single or will there be an ballad/duet album as mentioned before. Brian mentioned the MJFM track has been finished at Roger's studio. At Brian's studio they are working on another Queen track? Does this mean there will be an album with more ballad/duets? ... |

Funster, I agree the other tracks are not that special in the form we all heard them. But what if QP has some different takes with full Freddie or Michael parts. (so the isolated vocals). This could be something. Or just another version. Like we heard for example what the demo of AKOM (A kind of Vision) has turned into. |

< Is this what really cause their falling out? I never heard this story before. I thought it had to do with MJ observing FM doing drugs & he just took great offense to it & cut off Freddie. Maybe I'm wrong but I swear this is what I read in the past. |

Interesting to see the media join the hypocrisy blame game now... |
brENsKi 01.08.2013 16:42 |
you can hardly blame them. the Dr is proving to be a hypocrite on the most monumental scale. think about it.... 1995 - mIH - "let's milk the cash cow for what it's worth" 1998 - "NOBY - let's play the sympathy card" 1999- 2005 - endless "sell our souls dreary collabs, not making enough money, followed by a shocking musical" 2008 - TCR "with freddie's favourite singer" - it fucking bombed 2008-2013 - let's sell the last remnants of dignity with Kezza Ellis, PSY et al...still not enough cash 2013 - let's release the jacko tracks....that'll make money if they had any dignity or self respect they might actually do something original once ina f cucking while..... fucking money-grubbing c*nts, sick to death of em |

Personally I am pleased that finally will be released tracks Michael and Freddie. I am sure it will sell well. Of course this is not what I expected, but it's better than nothing. |

Nobody has confirmed yet that "Victory" will be included. No "Victory" = no purchase :-) |

Should be fantastic from the two greatest performers in history....the only problem being they were unfinished demo's way back then.'More to life' is actually a fantastic song, and you can here great snippets of it on the untold story documentary.Sadly Michael's contribution is nowhere near Freddie's,but spruced up,could be great! |

No Freddie....No Queen.Simple! |

Freddie scared of a llama is less embarrassing than Freddie being kicked out for sniffing white powder. |

I have serious reservations over this release,if indeed it will be released,as fans have been promised Live at The Rainbow and Live at Hammersmith for some time now. In my opinion thete was probably a good reason these tracks were never completed, there awful. Freddies verson of TMBMTLTT is a very weak ballad with mature cheddar overtones and MJs vocal inclusion, while highlighting Freds far superior voice, only spoils whatever emotion there is to the track. As for State.of Shock, well, thats even worse.....a bside track at best. Please please please can we have Live at The Rainbow instead of these tracks |

At first was announced that CD single with vocals Freddie&Jackson will be released late September. But now they ready release it for Christmas. |
JDFC 23.10.2013 16:16 |
Roger has given an interview with Team Rock Radio here in the UK, in which he says "the couple of tracks" Freddie did with Michael are finished to his & Brian's satisfaction, but as for when they are released, that's in the hands of the Jackson estate. A short extract has been posted here. The full interview will be broadcast tomorrow (Thursday 24th October) @ 7:30pm. |
brians wig 23.10.2013 16:41 |
Oh I'd just give up if I were you. Twenty five years of promised releases and so few of them have ever happened. Time to just let it go and realise it's all a dream. |
cmsdrums 24.10.2013 02:58 |
If you actually listen to the piece (rather than the radio station's transcript which is given as a quote but not completely verbatim) Roger clearly refer's to a minimum of four tracks: a couple of Queen tracks that Brian in particular has been working on, PLUS the two Freddie/Jackson tracks which they (RT & BM) have now completed to their satisfaction and are 'good to go' as soon as the MJ Estate agrees. I know this info has been summised before, but the transcript was a bit vague and could be read that that it was only the two Jackson tracks discussed. Howver, as pointed out by 'Brians Wig', whether this is all irrelevant as we'll never get to hear any of it, remains to be seen!! |
Mark_Glasgow 24.10.2013 12:09 |
Whatever they end up releasing, when they say Queen tracks, they had better mean with Freddies vocals on something new not released before, not some abortion like No One But You! I agree with the post that said no Freddie = no Queen. No problem with them touring with different singers, as there's no other option. But everything Roger and Brian have released outside Queen or after Freddie has been crap. Freddie seems to have been the quality control when the others brought songs to the table, as without him they havn't written a decent song that would have made a Queen album. (although on the other hand....maybe it was John!!) |
cmsdrums 24.10.2013 12:25 |
I think that's a bit harsh on No One But You - a good song, well performed by all three members and well intentioned. No difference between that and, say, Lost Opportunity, or any other song not featuring Freddie if you ask me. |

OK the intentions were there, but the delivery wasn't |
