Oooh, nice!
Was that fans choose the songs thing ever gonna actually work though? That would require him to preview all of the material recorded for it months before the album comes out.
So is this a direct sequel to "Fun In Space" or just a reference in name only? Will there be a solo world tour? At least he has beat Jimmy Page on getting a solo project out...or at least with a title...I guess we will see if and when this arrives and if it is any good.
Two years ago, Roger's album was supposed to be released by the end of 2011. Made in Heaven was also supposed to be released in 1993 (probably not with that title). The Miracle was going to be a Xmas 1988 (or was it Innuendo on Xmas 1990? Or both?). Xmas Eve '75, Rainbow and a 5.1 ADATR are yet to be released, even though they were officially (IIRC) announced a while ago.
IOW: I'll believe it when I see it.
We won't get Fun In Space Part 2 without Dave Richards.
Anyway let's hope for a good one.
His solo stuff is patchy at best but there may be one or two nuggets.
Fun in Space is my favorite Roger album.
Others have better production, catchier tunes, etc., but there's just something about Fun in Space that I love and I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's the fact that he -reportedly- plays all instruments (plus 50% of synths) and he deliberatly recorded it real fast. It sounds spontaneous and SO ROGER.
The first few tracks flow marvelously: No violins, Laugh or cry, Future management, Let's get cazy... All killers in my book.
"made in hell" *lol* :-)
"fun on earth" would be a good sign that he's standing both feet on the ground after having rocked the cosmos.
i'm looking foreward! really! this man has some stories to tell... i can't wait to listen.
I'll bet that we need to read Fun On Earth as ["Fun" On Earth], so he means it in a sarcistic kind of way and is going to complain a lot about the world on the album like he did in The Unblinking Eye.
I read in one blog (queenblog i think)one of the tracks of the album is called "I'm the drummer of a rock 'n'roll band"..any source more which can be corfirmed this?
