Thanks Alex and Owen ! Just watched part of the video yesterday, coincidentally on the 28th anniversary. I've seen it a thousand times and it still sends shivers through the spine. |

Such a stunning performance... I'll never tire of listening to this one. FM's voice is beyond incredible...especially if you take into account that he also entertains the audience - with his moves, energy and his charisma - while singing so brilliantly |

Thank you very much. The Hammer To Fall track in the original share sounded too fast but I did not feel confident to post the comment. The corrected version is good. |

Thanks for fixing this. I knew there was a balance problem but I hadn't realised the speed was wrong. How much have you slowed it down? I note you say you've maximised the right channel volume. Wouldn't that make it louder than the left since I don't think that was full scale either. As for providing full dynamic range, you can't improve the dynamic range that is in the .flac files. You can boost volume but that lifts the bottom as well, resulting in the same musical dynamic range (relative difference between quietest and loudest sounds). Or is that not what you meant? |
OwenSmith 15.07.2013 08:03 |
I note you've used a newer Live Aid logo. I found this but deliberately didn't use it, I wanted one that was the logo as used on the day. It felt like the more authentic vintage experience. There's nothing wrong with your choice though, each to his own. |
OwenSmith 15.07.2013 08:08 |
Is there a reason you've made this a private torrent? If the queenzone tracker goes down nobody can find your share, but mine can continue to work using DHT and Peer Exchange. I've seen people do this with other shares and that's their choice, but I don't understand the rationale. Can you explain for the benefit of my understanding? |

Speed was slowed down on 1%, forgot to mention that ;) The right channel was maximized using as parameter the left channel, that way you can have a perfect match between both channels. GoldWave decompresses FLAC using a temp WAV file to work with and once you're done, encodes it back to FLAC using the same compression level than the original FLAC file. The full dynamic range also uses the right channel as parameter. Well, in this case I've set it that way... |

About private torrents, my bad, I don't usually create private torrents, that's why I've uploaded to 1fichier so anyone could get it from there ;) |

I can see how cassette could vary by 1% on speed, and having played both I think yours sounds more correct on pitch. |

Alas this torrent was created as Private therefore no DHT or Peer Exchange allowed, so now that the QueenZone tracker is down it's impossible to find this torrent. A shame since I'm still seeding it. However, there is a solution. I've added the following trackers to my torrent of this so if you add these on an attempt to download it should work: udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80/announce udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80/announce |
OwenSmith 09.08.2014 20:23 |
It seems the Queenzone tracker is working again, so no need for extra trackers at the moment. |
OwenSmith 17.08.2014 16:48 |
My mistake, the Queezone tracker is still dead. Add the following trackers to the torrent in your software and you should be able to find me seeding this: udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80/announce udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80/announce |
