Hey guys
Is there anything backing GB's assumption that Fairy Feller and The Night Comes Down were performed that night ?
Did not see any mention of it on Bob's website or queenconcerts
Cheers

Both of these songs were performed live - but not on this date!
Interesting. Does this mean, that a recording of Blackpool exists ? And I guess we will find out WHEN these songs were performed in the new edition of the Queen live book when/if it gets released ?
If they performed those songs and we could hear it one day, that would truly amaze me. I sort of doubt they were performed, but I would be happy to be wrong!
I spoke to an American Queen fan a long time ago and he went to see Queen in 1975. Allegedly, they improvised Fairy Feller (after a request by some audience members). I believe as an instrumental, like Leroy Brown. Date and location unknown, I'm afraid.
Apparently Greg said at the latest convention that they played song/s at the March Rainbow show that were assumed never played live (or along those lines). My guess is that is what GT is referring to?
Would make sense in that context. Big homecoming headline show. Pull something special out the bag.
I assume it didn't go well if that was the only time.
As Rick mentioned and I've posted here before, an old Queen collecting friend, Marc Tretman, from California, said that they played a bit of Fairy Feller's as an improv at a gig he was at.
Probably Santa Monica in either 1975 or 1976. He said some guy was constantly yelling for the song and to appease him, Freddie started playing a bit of it on the piano (can't recall if the others joined in). Marc is a reputable and very knowledgeable Queen fan who supplied me with many of my very first rare Queen videos, back in the late 80's. I met him in Hollywood in 1992 and I can attest to his good character, so I'm pretty sure the info he supplied was true.
