I had a conversation with a friend about audio / video formats.
As far as i know Queen has released stuff on:
- LP
- 7" SINGLE
- 7" EP SINGLE
- 12 " MAXI SINGLE
- 7" FLEXIDISC
- PICTURE DISC
- SHAPED PICTURE DISC
- COLORED 7"
- COLORED 12"
- CD
- CD SINGLE
- CD MAXI SINGLE
- 3" CD SINGLE
- MC
- MC SINGLE
- 8 TRACK
- REEL TO REEL
- VHS
- BETAMAX
- VIDEO 8
- VIDEO CD
- LAZER DISC
- DVD
- DVD AUDIO
- BLURAY
- HD DVD
- UMD ( PSP )
- USB
I don't think anything was released on VCC ( VIDEO 2000 ), DCC , DAT and CDi .
Did I miss anything?
I'm sure it matters to somebody out there... :P
As long as you're talking about formats, I would suggest you don't separate black vs. coloured vinyls, or cd singles vs. cd maxi singles.

SACD
C+DG (Karaoke)
10" single ???? (not sure about this)
mini LP - (Star Fleet)
SUPER AUDIO COMPACT DISC : Queen ?
C+DG : never heard of....
10" : wasn't that the size of a 78 rpm record ?
Mini LP : more like a 12 " EP
SACD - yes - Japanese releases (i think)
sorry put the + in the wrong place - i meant CD+G (karaoke discs)
10" - no lots of singles were released in the 80s on 10" vinyl - i personally have some by Dire Straits, Dexys and David Bowie - put the "??" as not sure about queen but heard a rumour they had
no. Star Fleet - is described by Brian May and the record company as a mini-LP - so you can';t rename it an EP because it suits you. the key here is which music chart and pricing level the artists wishes the release to be eligible for. EPs are traditionally priced at the same level assingles, mini LPs are priced midway between a single and an album - and as i recall - back at the time of release my SFP album cost me £2.99 when standard albums were about £5 and singles were about £1.25
that's NOT the same thing...you can copy anything to a USB stick...queen actively (but disasterously) released a collection of "great live concerts" via queen online for download a few years ago - these were mp3

But does that make it a diferent format? Is a double album a format of it's own, because it costs more than a single album?
The way I see it, format refers to the technical spesifications of a product.
You can have 12" discs with 33rpm (albums) and 12" discs with 45rpm (singles). Similarily, a 7" disc can be 33rpm (EP), or 45rpm (single).
