Last night on BBC4 I caught 'All in the best possible taste', a bio about Kenny Everett
I guess it's been broadcast before but well worth a watch, Fred has a big part in it... well a chap playing Fred, the resemblance was pretty good but the voice no so much...
Try to catch it if you can, worth a laugh or two. The chap playing Everett was excellent
I watched it last night too. Quite enjoyed it but would I guess there was a lot of 'artistic licence' where Freddie was involved. I thought the guy who played Kenny was superb though
^ Yeah, artistic license indeed: silly wee things like Freddie having a moustache during the Sid Snot sketch (when he didn't in the real one) and smoking like a chimney during the 1978 segments (I think he started smoking in 1979....).
Not that it *really* matters, of course, but since the guy playing Kenny had everything down to a T, they might have researched this a little better :)
i have it on my computer if you want to view it, yeah but i don't like what they did with kenny and freddies performance because there like my two favourite people like kenny (favourite comedian) and Freddie (favourite singer).

Incidentally enough, the latest fan club magazine has a copy of Freddie's handwritten letter to fans from Spring 81 in which he says he's just taken up smoking!

can i watch it somewhere else online?
I am also not in the UK so I use this http://www.expatshield.com/
Download, install, run = British IP anywhere in the world, watch iplayer then turn it off again to regain normal network IP. Totally free and virus clean.
Great show, great by the guy who played Kenny. Terrible writing/acting by Freddie. They gave him a moustache in 79...you can look at that clip on the internet and see he hasn't got a moustache. However, that's more of a nitpick, my main complaint is that he doesn't sound or act anything like Freddie. It's almost like, stick a moustache on anybody, talk posh and there you go, Freddie Mercury!
All in all I thought it was a great show. The important thing to remember is it was all about Kenny Everett and not Freddie, Freddie's character was only on screen about 6 minutes out of a total 90. Sure, the guy playing him could have been better, but it was a minor role in the story. I must say the chap playing Kenny was absolutely top notch in every aspect. It cannot be easy to do a Kenny, he was quite brilliant and unique. I thought it really was him in some scenes. Great acting, great script and great directing.
