I just attended a Queen tribute concern at the local Fantasy Springs Casino here in the desert area of California. The venue was great. The group Queen Nation. I thought they did a good job, but it was a hot 110 Fahrenheit degree day here and the concert was outside. Fortunately, the event was at night, and the temps cool quickly. Lead singer said the heat melted his moustache. I am curious to know your view of Queen Nation and also if you think the wigs, costuming, moustache play an important part in the tribute performance or if you find that stuff a bit of a cliché.
BTW, my avatar is a picture I took of the lead singer from the event.

Can't stop laughing.... !!!!!!!!!!

:-)
Please explain..as there are some folks who even find the hold tribute thing as a cliché, but then some are just about the music, some the image, and others enjoy the whole taco, and are only satisfied with best combined music and the best mirror image around. The FLASH white and red edged tee shirt. white trousers, and a red sash worn at this concert or the yellow jacket so often seen may, or may not, be old for some. I respect all views. I am just curious about the feedback
I saw a tribute act in 2008. The band looked and sounded the part except for the lead vocalist, he looked nothing like Freddie, and he sang like a local pub singer in a flat off tempo tone. Queen + Paul Rogers they were called. Wonder what became of them.
I also saw Queen Nation at a free show they did down the street from my house in August last year with my son, and I have to say they tore it up. I'm not usually one for tribute bands, but they sounded so damn good. No joke. If you get a chance to see them, by all means. They also have a fb page as well. I highly recommend seeing them if they play anywhere near you...well worth the time and money you may (or may not) spend!
