60 mins and standard defintion ...... I don't think I'll camp out by the DVD shop for that one ....
Where exactly is this idea that it's held on Film come from.
I'm convinced that Greg originally said it was shot on PAL 2" video tape and I'm also convinced that the clip that was shown at Convention 2 years ago was a lovely interlaced picture.
Personally, I'll be mighty pissed off it it WAS shot on videotape and it's presented on DVD as a de-interlaced picture.
It's bad enough that it's going to be NTSC and look shit.

That is the version that will be shown on TV I believe so that would be the edited down version....
On what channel exactly?
No idea....but it's Eagle TV so it would make sense if it was tv version of a DVD that they will shop around to stations...It's not an Eagle Video brochure...

There are pictures on QueenLive.ca showing that they used video cameras (as opposed to film cameras). If Rainbow wasn't shot on tape, I'll eat my own face.
The footage that survives from the March show, however, was almost definitely shot on film, so perhaps that's where the confusion has arisen over time.

Exactly. And it just plain looks like it was shot on video. Especially the backstage footage.
There is still no definite release date for this product. How could there be: it isn't finished yet.
The Press release that sparked this, was merely something put together by Eagle Rock for promo which was put out, mistakenly, a good deal too early.
Rainbow WILL happen, but not this Spring. I couldn't tell you when because I don't know. Nobody knows. But we have to finish it first, and obviously we will.
It is not unprecedented for a Press Release to go out early, at the wrong time, accidentally, and/or for it to contain misinformation... such as that the Rainbow concerts were "filmed". They were NOT filmed, they were shot on 2" video tape.
Hope that helps.

Thanks GB for the info. Any further info? Will it be more than the 60 minute version, or will it just be a DVD version of what was on VHS, much like the Budapest show?
