Just the other day I watched the youtube video of Queen + Paul Rodgers from Santiago, Chile. They tore the place up - too bad they couldn't make their relationship work. I thought the "Cosmos Rocks" was a pretty good album and had they stuck together and come up with a second album I think it would have been really good. Here's the link to the Santiago concert - man they were smokin' (and this comes from someone who saw Queen five times from 1978 to 1982) link |

Yes, they were. I haven't seen any audience recordings from their 2008 tour, only the official Ukraine release but I can tell you that as early as their 2006 U.S. tour they were really on fire. Saw them a few times in 2005 (Vienna, Munich, Prague, Leipzig) and the gigs were amazing but I would say that the audience were almost as important as the band. We were ALL on fire. I saw the band once again in San Diego the following year. April 1st, 2006. On that night THEY rocked! The audience didn't participate as much as in Europe but there was a lot of energy in the air. The band were TIGHT and rocked real hard. Paul was in great shape also and, if I remember correctly, the audience cheered his songs as much as Queen's so that may have helped him, hehe :). Awesome night. |

i would love to see them play with PR again. I just hope BM and RT realise that the Glambert project was a mistake and in fact it alienated a lot of fans, myself included. I know PR isnt Fred but he is a great singer and his chemistry with BM and RT was excellent. |

I was at the Apri 1 2006 QPR San Diego show also and I thought they tore the place apart. One thing I did notice is that compared to what I remember from seeing them in the '70's (New Orleans Halloween night 1978 included!) and the '80's they weren't quite as loud. As Brian and Roger have said a number of times when you saw them back then they left you deafened and blinded. At the San Diego show, just as they started We Will Rock You, I called my wife back in New Orleans and she said something like "Whats wrong with you? You're 44 years old!!" (Not real sure if that's exactly what she said because although they weren't as loud as they used to be they were plently loud enough for my 44 year old ears!) |

In my opinion PR doesn't hold a CANDLE vocally, charisma-wise or stage-presence-wise to AL. But I will say that Brian and Roger's are playing FAR superior to how I have heard them play with Adam. The music is phenomenal. The vocals .... not so much. |

Now don't get me wrong, I love Brian to bits & his Guitar playing is the Tops. But in 2012 for the Queen+AL gigs, Brian was the only guitarist on stage & you could just tell by the quality of his playing, that it was better than it had been for a long while. After the Gig on the 11th July, I went outside the venue full of the "Buzz" of what had just happened, talking to other Queen fans about how Great Brian was playing.Russian Headlong wrote: i would love to see them play with PR again. My second gig on the 14th July, Brian was playing even better..Just as they were getting into their stride, the mini tour was over. :-( Now, I'm going to say this & I know that I will get a lot of ear bashing from those who despise Adam Lambert..But..It was obvious that with Performing with Adam Lambert, it had awoken a spark in Brian, to be back on the top of his game. Now I say God Bless to AL for that!!! I am a foremost a Queen Fan & would not go to see a AL solo gig, But the 2 Q+AL gigs that I did in 2012 were (& again in my opinion) better than any of the 2008 Q+PR gigs that I attended. (not that I disliked the 2008 tour, I thought that was great too) So hopefully for this "Long Haul" tour of 26 dates, they will perform just as well as they did in 2012. |

Here's another article Mark Gilroy wrote BEFORE he attended the Hammersmith show (November 11, 2011): "Top 10 facts about Adam Lambert (AKA the Adam Lambert incident)" "Picture the scene – a cold Tuesday night in York, nothing on TV. I was channel flicking and stumbled across the closing performance of the MTV EMAs. Queen were performing with a singer who I’d never heard of before – Adam Lambert. Every once in a while, an artist comes along with a voice that makes you stop in your tracks. It was only after the performance had finished that I realised I’d actually stopped what I was doing to give this guy my full attention. I went to my favourite source of information to find out more: Mark Gilroy Music @markgilroymusic Follow Who's this Adam Lambert chap then? Just knocked the socks off 'We Are The Champions'! #mtvemas 3:55 PM - 8 Nov 2011 I was completely unprepared for what happened next. Within 48 hours I’d received 516 messages, been retweeted 349 times (reaching a total audience of over 303,000 people), and picked-up 218 incredible new followers. Since asking that question, I’ve spent a great deal of time this week listening to Adam Lambert tracks and watching YouTube videos of live performances. I’ve also been sent some wonderful messages from Adam’s twitter fans – the ‘Glamberts’ or ‘Glamily’ as they like to be known |

You dismiss anyone and go on the attack about anyone who doesn't feel the way you do about AL. I knew it on QOL, but you both tripped over yourselves in doing it here as well. Cray, cray still reigns. Just wait until Q+AL is over with. I expect more true colors to be shown then as well. |

FreddieCat, we are supportive of both Queen and Adam, unlike the so-called Queen fans who have been very critical of Brian and Roger for even thinking of doing this collaboration let alone doing it. We are not the ones posting all of the negative and nasty remarks. Take another look at what is being posted! We want nothing but joy and happiness and success for everyone concerned. And we are NOT looking at this collaboration as a means for Adam to become a megastar because we believe he already is one! |

You do it on QOL, you have done it here. You want everyone to see AL the way you do, and you want total control in your small mind. The way you judge and lash out is proof of it. |

I'm a long term Queen Fan, (36 years) & would not buy any Adam Lambert solo Project, or go to any solo gig. But the reality of this situation is:- If it was not for Adam Lambert, Brian & Roger would be sat on their backsides at home doing nothing. So I say go with the flow, Go and see Queen+ for what will most likely be the Very Last Time, be thankful that Adam has inspired them to go on the road again. Besides the 2 Hammersmith gigs that I did in 2012, if I am truly honest, 90% of the time, my head was turned watching Brian & Roger anyway, but the 10% of the time that I was focused on Adam, Personally I thought he was a great entertainer, but either Love or Hate Adam, don't get worked up about nothing, Just go to the gigs & watch what is important to the Individual. |

So true. I was aware of Queen during their rise to fame, but I was too young to go to any concerts, even if they'd toured near me. Those were the days before parents brought their tween and younger kids to see boy-band artists like Bieber in concerts, never-mind a true rock band like Queen. In fact I can't even imagine my own folks ever considering putting out good money to pay for such a thing for their children. I never went to a real concert until I was in college as a matter of fact, and by then Queen had no real presence in the US, outside of minimal radio play and stadium anthems at football games. One of my clearest and earliest recollections of Queen was listening to Bohrap during the movie Wayne's World (which I paid for using baby-sitting money). That's pretty sad, but at the time I thought it was great! I would have loved to see Queen with Freddie, but never got the chance. I'm going to love seeing QAL, especially since this might be the last opportunity I get to see Queen. I definitely closely follow Adam's solo career, so this opportunity is all the sweeter for me. |

I became a fan forever! |
