link has anyone seen this recent article? I remember seeing something posted somewhere a few weeks ago about this plaque....this isn't a new 'discovery', is it? |
dowens 26.02.2013 18:40 |
Wow. Is this real? And it's just NOW been discovered?! |

Didin't read the article, but it is easier to believe that Kensal Green holds only a plaque in memory of Freddie. His ashes were splited, and the most likely destinations are under the Cherry Tree on Garden Lodge and Lake Geneva in Montreaux. Lesley-Ann Jones, though, on her biography of Freddie, tells that a plot in Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, belongs to the Bulsara family, and Mary Austin was seen with some frequency there always carring fresh flowers with her. She went there to investigate and had the story confirmed by a caretaker of the cemetery. She also says Peter Freestone wasn't surprised to hear about it, but couldn't confirm, saying only that the ashes were divided and their parents got some and so Mary did. |

Hi, I'm new to the Queen Zone. Find this topic about Freddy very interesting as there's been so much hype surrounding it. It must be driving the press wild!!! Even now in 2018! I think in public and on stage Freddy was seen as the total performer...the showman! But he really was quite a humble, deep person privately. I know that he wanted his final resting place to reflect the calm peace he needed in his life. He really loved the folks closest to him. I think Freddy wanted his ashes to be placed somewhere that meant something incredibly significant to him, in a place where he'd be left alone in complete peace. Somewhere only his closest family and friends could go in quiet and confidence, without ever being mauled by the press. Some loyal fans argue that it's not fair that his final resting place is hidden and the whole issue such a cloak and dagger affair! Problem is, Freddy was so 'massive!', it'd be a free for all by the press and homophobes in general if folks knew. But hey, it is what it is and they've never found the holy grail either! Those who genuineny love the 'Fredstar' will understand why he wanted it this way... There are only a few folks that know where his ashes lay and I'm one of them..one of the lucky ones. This will always remain a secret with me....forever. Where he lays, there is no memorial mentioning him, no gold, glitter or glamour. It's not in any place where anyone would expect it to be. Just an important title line from one of his songs hidden away. No huge towering memorial in a posh London park, or scattered on a picturesque Swiss lake! Why???!!! Coz that's how he wanted it! Yes, it's clever and it's cryptic as his final resting place still remains a secret to this day and that will remain the same forever. I sometimes go and sit and have a chat with him... Those loyal, genuine fans that want to say something to him...I'd be quite happy to do that for you...just post a note. Let his music be his body and his voice, his soul. |

Do you know where Arthur, King of the Britons is buried? I'd like to pay my respects ... |
Vocal harmony 27.08.2018 11:51 |
That also is a closely guarded secret, which I'm sure Bex won't hesitate in telling everyone being as she is probably one of the few entrusted with that information! I'm sure she also knows the location of the Holy Grail and the infamous missing Robert Johnson song. ;) |

I know where Sherlock Holmes is buried. |

Yeah I do,..have known for years. I didn't realise the people on this members site were so bitter. Probably the reason why it's a good thing that his resting place remains a secret, coz he wouldn't want folks who 'mock' others anywhere near him! |

Your first posting and you misspell 'Freddie'. |

You've posted on a Queen fan site and made it clear that you're one ofbthe elite who is considered close enough to Freddie's circle of friends and or family to have been allowed to know the whereabouts of his final resting place.Somewhere that those family and friends agreed to keep private. Speaking personally any secret that I'm entrusted with stays with me, and by that I mean the fact I know the secret wouldn't be something I'd broadcast in anyway. Add that to the fact you can't spell his name, it puts you in the shadows of knowledge rather than at the forefront of anything any genuine fans would wantnto hear from you. All you got in response is dry wit, from most of us. |

Freddie loved mystery. I think it's fitting that the whereabouts of his ashes remain a mystery. They could be anywhere. It sparks the imagination and I'm sure he'd love that. RIP Freddie. |
Grantcdn1 06.09.2018 05:23 |
Yes for sure - it is truly better to leave it as a mystery.....probably only Mary knows for sure... Btw did anyone watch the episode of Prison Break ( the last season) which had some discussion on this topic (the mystery of where the ashes were...there were several other Queen references in two episodes |

Since the secret is hidden in one of FreddY's lyrics, could it be Londontown? Barcelona? Bali? New Orleans? Please, Beavis, say they're not hidden in the bowels of Khashogi's Ship |

My guess is that they were scattered in the river or ocean so that no one needs to worry about them anymore. |
