This weekend I got a weekendtrip to London as a present from my boss. I've been his employé for over ten years now. He inlcluded two tickets for WWRY aswell. I never wanted to go to a musical. I don't like the way the actors perrform and sing. It' all over acting I think ... Many people have suggested I should visit WWRY. I always answered that if I would ever went to go see a musical it would be the original one in London.
I have been to London a couple of times, but the last visit was almost 20 years ago. (I'm dutch btw) I have seen Freddie's house and have been to the Rockcircus.
I know the Stormtroopers exhibition isn't around anymore, but are there any other places of interest I should visit?
According to the site of the Tate Britain Museum the painting The Ferry Feller's Master's Stroke is on display. I hope they sell prints of this artwork...
If you are interested in the early days and where the band used to live, perform and hang out you could visit Kensington Market, Hammersmith Odeon, Rainbow Theatre (if it's still there?), Royal Albert Hall, Ealing Art College (+ Freddie's bar), Imperial College, Wembley Arena, 100 Holland Road, Hyde Park, Earl's Court Arena and if you go to Feltham you can see Freddie and Brian's houses.
If not, then seeing the WWRY musical + merchandise shop and seeing the FM photographic exhibition upstairs will keep you busy for about 4 hours.
Enjoy London - it's fab.
Hi Gary
i too am making the pilgrimage to London in 5 weeks time, and im actually staying in the next street from Garden Lodge,
i never knew Freddie had a bar named after him
where is it and what its like ??
drinks prices?
Freddie's Bar is situated at Ealing Art College at St Mary's Road, Ealing, London and was attended by Freddie and Tim Staffell. The site today is the Ealing campus of University of West London.
Freddie’s Bar, at the West London campus, serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and is the main venue for entertainment and events, from live music and club nights to comedy and quizzes - it’s the ideal place to make friends and have fun.
Ealing is easy to reach from all the London Underground stations. Travel time from central London Underground stations to Ealing is typically 35 - 45 minutes. There is also a regular rail service linking Ealing Broadway with London Paddington.
The West London campus on St Mary's Road has three London Underground stations within easy walking distance: Ealing Broadway, Ealing Common, South Ealing. The St Mary's Road, Ealing site is a 10 minute walk from the station.
A regular bus service (number 65) runs from immediately outside Ealing Broadway station to the St Mary's Road, Ealing site and there are taxi ranks at both Ealing Broadway and South Ealing stations.
The St Mary's Road, Ealing site lies on the B455 which runs between the A4 and A4020 (Uxbridge Road). The M4 motorway is a few minutes' drive away from Ealing (junction 2), and the A40, M40 and M25 are easily accessible
Site address at the Ealing site, West London campus is St Mary's Road, Ealing, W5 5RF. You might want to ring them first to see if you can still visit and have a drink in the bar and what times they open.

Didn't know about the photo exhibition !
Ealings will be visited too. Wembley is not the original one anymore , no point of interest anymore .
I''ve heard about a store called It's Only Rock And Roll which sells popmerchandise . Is it any good?
I think I'm right in saying that Wembley Arena is still the same building. It has just been turned around and the entrance is now at the back. It also has a new exterior and been modernised.
That shop you mention is round the corner from Baker Street underground station. It is opposite the Beatles store. It's a fab little store selling lots of band merchandise including Queen.
