Does anyone really know if German LPs are really good? I'm going to buy some LPs soon, and all I ever meet on the Internet is mostly German-made. I myself have a German Queen LP (Jazz, 1978), and it sounds nice enough to me.
I'm just curious to hear some thoughts and opinions from experts.
Very many LPs sold in Europe (and I don't just mean Queen, but in general) were printed in (West-)Germany, especially for the Dutch and Belgian markets. I have a few hundred LPs, and a significant proportion of those are printed in Germany (including some Queen ones). In my opinion, they are neither superior nor inferior to comparable European releases. The sound quality of LPs is influenced by many far more important issues than printing location, including but not limited to the weight of the vinyl, the wear and tear on the matrix that is used, as well as the source of the matrix.
