Noticed that Brian said Freddie didnt really mean it when he said his songs were basically crap and should be thrown away like bic razors
Anyone know of anymore things Freddie said that were flippant THAT have later been explained and LUCIDATED on by Brian or anyone else?
There is a real discussion in here somewhere. People seem to have ascribed a lot of weight to that remark of Fred's but I always saw it as self conscious and defensive, and more useful in rebuffing closer examination of the emotions, motivations and accomplishments of a shy and private man than it was in accurately describing the value of his work.

I like how people see jones' username and instantly start writing immature shit when, really, not only is this a real discussion topic but it's written in a somewhat coherent manner. In this case, those people are trolls more so than jones is.
I seem to remember Roger saying something along the lines that when Freddie say his songs don't mean anything, that he's not always telling the truth. So, yeah, he says some stuff, whether due to modesty or artistic integrity, that he doesn't really mean.

I agree. Medusa certainly is a lunatic, but that doesn't mean there can't be merit to something he brings up for discussion, such as this.
What GF said about it being a sort of defense mechanism sounds pretty plausible, I know people who do exactly the same thing when asked about their work.

Fat chance those complicated motives of Freddie the public private man shall ever be displayed by Borat the serious cretin with a Freddie mustache that delighted Dr May so much he said YES!!
It is a hard thing to accept, but one must remind oneself that due to Queen's massive worldwide appeal, the vast majority of their fans are infact very ordinary and not in the least bit *exceptional, and as this forum proves to me again and again ,it is a great mistake to think you are in the company of anything but the usual moronic hordes that avidly post on the internet.
Indeed the thoughtful and the true are a very rare breed.
So dear reader if you are shocked by the low standard of the posters in this forum , just one of many of it's kind devoted to the greatest of musical talent , do not be dismayed or disuaded by your encountering of such dross as the posters on this forum, do not let them discourage your better instincts or endevours, for it is the fools folly to despise their betters.
