Imo the sound and the video are not in synch on my bluray dvd.
Freddie is looking like miming al what he sings. Very noticable in one vision, but throughout the dvd.
What are your opinions. And can i do something about it?
In one way.. Thats good to hear. I will try my ps3 as player tomorrow. Lets see if i have the same problem.
Very strange though.. Never had such a problem.

My version is fine but it could be a fault with the DVD. I have a version of GVH2 where all of the hot space section is well off synch if you play in 5.1.

Bizarrely I remember renting Budapest from my local video shop when it first came out on VHS, and the audio and video were massively out if sync by about 4 or 5 seconds - there was clearly a VHS batch that went wrong!
I just "shifted" the audio to "-0.1s" in XBMC and the stereo PCM track plays correctly, so try to set the delay too.
The DTS track appears to be synchronized properly. But how could they release something not synchronized properly ???
Because as we know with a lot of their releases of the last few years, there seems to be no final proof reading/final quality and accuracy checks on a lot of the products.
I have the legitimate DVD and it's synched fine, both DTS and PCM tracks. I also a Blu-ray copy I downloaded from somewhere and it also has no synch problems. So it could be one or two batches that went wrong.
Edit: I used Media Player Classic to play both.
Also note that the synchronization problem could be due to the hardware decoding h.264 too slowly, resulting in audio getting out of synch sometimes. I had that a lot with some HD anime when I tried to watch it on my old Pentium 4 which broke 2 years ago.

I remember my mother renting me for me when I was smaller and didn't have the original VHS, and the rented VHS has everything after around Tavaszi Szel Vizet Araszt replaced with half of a Tina Turner concert.
Now I have two copies of the original VHS and both are fine, with no synch problems.

Anything is possible. As I wrote my BluRay didn't arrive yet so I'm watching it as an mkv with XBMC. But I have watched dozens of 1080p movies and I don't remember EVER having synchronization problems until now.
So, possible reasons :
1. A bad batch of Blurays was produced, which was silently replaced by corrected versions very quickly.
2. Every single BD has this problem, but 99% of people won't notice it. As I wrote the delay is approx. 100 milliseconds. Our TV sometimes airs news reports where the sound is off for about 2 frames (2/25 = 8/100 of a second), I find it extremely annoying, but nobody from my family notices the delay. Most of the people won't notice
3. It's a hardware decoding problem on some specific players
Well I can't wait till I get my official BluRay and check it myself
- pittrek: Or the .MKV wasn't properly encoded. And I notice delays if they are - with Queen concerts, I just follow the snares by ear then if the video doesn't match up, even if slightly, I will notice that. And I haven't noticed it on both my watchings of Hungarian Rhapsody (downloaded Blu-ray and legitimate DVD). Same goes for both copies of the Live In Budapest VHS and the Laserdisc-to-DVD transfer I downloaded.
Ok.. My bluray is in synch.. That is, with normal stereo. All my surround version are off.
Maybe there a nerd here for some advice:)
This is the first time ever i noticed it on my player, a sony e780w
If it is a common problem then let's all contact QP and ask for a 'product recall'.
This has been done before with Hollywood DVDs and BDs. Back To The Future and Die Hard aspect ratio issues spring to mind.
My Blu-ray seems to in sync on both audio tracks.
Glad to see the main concert is V24p although the doc is 60Hz
....and dont forget to view in full mode as opposed to 16:9 or auto if you tv allows.
You will see more I promise.
