First post in a very long time... but "if" this acetate does have a different mix (and it is equally available to all) should it be for sale on a public auction site? link |
mooghead 13.11.2012 13:56 |
Not sure I understand the question? Why shouldn't it be sold on a public auction site? |
. 13.11.2012 15:45 |
Exactly, If you have £9000 to spare you may possibly find out how it came to be. Perhaps the time is at last right for listing the Hangman acetate. Buy it now!! |
Hangman_96 13.11.2012 16:30 |
We want the Hangman acetate! |
Holly2003 13.11.2012 17:16 |
It's probably a fake. |
Ozz 13.11.2012 17:56 |
of course it can be. i never understood the logic of those who saw some kind of theft in getting this kind of memorabilia. QP have the same chances (or even more) than anyone else. they surely got the money. who knows, maybe the acetate is just the standard mix. oh.. and it's located in Russia... |
1sharppencil 14.11.2012 02:28 |
let QP bid and buy it - JSS, I don't get you - what seems to be the problem? my opinion: prob. the same mix as in the single release - it's hard to ask the seller to post even a 10-15 sec. taster - the trouble about acetates |
1sharppencil 14.11.2012 02:28 |
same goes for you - I ask you, respectfully, to upload an audio excerpt of that infamous track and shut everybody (moi included) up |
Marknow 14.11.2012 04:04 |
£9000,00 my arse. The last Trident acetate of KQ sold for way less on ebay a few years ago? That one was 2min 55 sec, and is also listed as different from the released version. link |
Elektra 14.11.2012 06:33 |
Oh How Ridiculous! |
Negative Creep 14.11.2012 07:01 |
Acetates don't instantly = unreleased mixes. Acetates have since been replaced by CD-Rs and digital files. This acetate even has the release date hand written on it, which pretty much confirms it to have been pressed so late in the day that it is the finished mix. |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 15.11.2012 05:20 |
3.00 minutes is the length of track on the album. Though 9000,- is too much for this one... |

Oh no problem whatsoever thanks; I just wondered what the current QZ concensus would be. IMO: If it is for sale (same mix/fake - or not), then anyone and everyone (provided they are willing to pay) share the same bidding opportunities, and are free (choice) to buy at will. It's just that a few months back quite a few in here vocally condemned this sort of activity as illegal and compared it to both theft and housebreaking. But "IF" the bidder is satisfied with their purchase (especially "IF" it was unreleased) - wherein is the harm? |
Benn 15.11.2012 09:57 |
Hi John, You're not planning something similar with a certain acetate are you.........? |
Negative Creep 15.11.2012 10:48 |
I'm not sure why anyone has an issue with people buying/selling such items. They come up for auction online and in real live auction houses and QPL are more than able to purchase them themselves. Some studio reels being sold by an older manager recently sold at an auction house for only a thousand or so each. You would think if the band were so bothered by such activity and based on the financial worth of all those involved in QPL, they would constantly scour auctions and buy such items up. |

Made of wood and leather, Galileo's telescope had a convex main lens with a concave eyepiece like the original, Dutch-made telescopes, but his version boosted the viewing power to eight-times magnification. this is a once in a lifetime opportunity both items in one unique package - special buy-it-now price only £250,000 contact wearenotscamsters@nigeriaemailopportunities.com |

How could someone from Moscow get it? It's just nonsense. Although, I've heard there's a man in Moscow who does have a very big collection of Queen rarities... |
Marknow 15.11.2012 14:21 |
I'm kinda skeptical about this guy on ebay too, and lord knows I have been caught a few times. There seems to be a inconsistent flow of rare programs coming out of Moscow, all usually in very good condition this guy has those listed too. I doubt this listing will sell anyway, It is way over priced even if it is a unreleased version, which is still debatable. It might be re-listed at a lower price, but it still won't sell. People who own these things tend to put their own unrealistic monetary value on them. |

I've learned over time that there's not such thing as "QZ consensus" However, There's a lot of QZ Hypocrisy Im sure given the opportunity 99,9% of the users won't have the minimal expression of "ethics" in order to get an invaluable item of Queen Memorabilia. So, John, you should take all the "Forum Board Bravery" as what it is... just words behind a keyboard. Real world works very differently. Close example: Brian May , "The Nicest guy in Rock n' Roll" got old and began to rewrite history slipping convenient "credit" mistakes in latest releases and i've seen that there's an increasingly spotlight on him in every new release (Which makes me wonder if he just hold a huge resentment all these years, that he never could spoke because the overwhelming personality of Freddie) so, why do we try to look like we care when in reality a lot of that comes from knowing that we would never be in that crossroad because most people here are not buying acetates everyday ? |

Not to mention kind of, y'know, wrong. |
dysan 16.11.2012 14:31 |
Although I'm not fussed either way about this, and it is quite possible someone living in Moscow ISN'T a crook, isn't the whole alternate mix thing academic since we all has the Killer Queen stems? The mystery is gone and we can all make our own. |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 16.11.2012 15:42 |
Well if Hangman is uploaded today , noboby will mention it anymore after 2 weeks. And beggars will plead for the queen + a gib acetate... When this is upaded people will beg fOr the 2 other queen & bowie tracks (4 tracks were recorded). And so on... |
dysan 17.11.2012 04:20 |
True. Which is a shame. we forget how special these things were once we get them, although I still do get a little rush of disbelief when I think that we now have stuff like the early demos out offically. |

Let's call a spade a spade... The greatest possible Queen rarity is out - the full 24-track master of Bohemian Rhapsody. Everything else is in second place. 15 thousand bucks for an acetate that might contain a slightly different mix or edit? Have fun. |
