1. Strange Frontier
2. Happiness
3. Another World
4. Mr Bad Guy
5. Electric fire.
top 5 singles...
1. Strange Frontier
2. Living On My Own (1993)
3. Happiness
4. Love kills
5. The unblinking eye
I only know two Rog albums and 1 Cross album to the point where I can assess them relatively thoroughly. But of the solo albums where the band mates struck out by themselves, I would rate them like this:
1. Back to the Light
2. Barcelona
3. Mr Bad Guy
4. Another World
5. Strange Frontier
The other ones I know are Happiness, Furia and Shove It. Starfleet is not included since its not a full album but is number 1 in my EP's list....lol..
Despite Rog's relatively poor showing on my albums list, some of his individual songs have been incredible. Favourites include Dear Mr Murdoch, The Unblinking Eye, Old Friends and Strange Frontier. I just didn't find his stuff as consistent as Brian or Freddie's, that's all.
There's not a single rock solid solo album. Another World and Electric Fire come close.
If I assembled compilation discs of Brian and Roger's material, they'd be an excellent 160 minutes of music.
That said - side 1 of Barcelona tops it all.
1. Barcelona
2. Elecrtic Fire
3. Back To The Light
4. Happiness?
5. Fun In Space
I like Roger's stuff best overall, but Barcelona takes the cake for best ANYTHING any of them did during their solo career. Career-wise, in my opinion, Roger's was the best.
tough one - some ppl got it right - the best stuff was always channeled into the band - post 1991 activity is not that great. Albums, not singles!
1. The Cross/ Blue Rock (their best and...last)
2. Barcelona (if only for the vision and the audacity)
3. Electric Fire (decent album by Rog)
4. Mr. Bad Guy (minus the production it'd be #1)
5. Back to the Light (and it only took Bri a decade!!)
Glad to see I'm not the only one. Roger got so many things right the first time around.
My top 5 (for today.. It usually changes):
1. Fun in Space
2. Barcelona
3. Back to the Light
4. Happiness
5. Electric Fire
I was tempted to put MBADTK and Blue Rock but, to be honest, they both have 3-4 solid tracks and the rest are weak. Now, if I counted that pirate CD that has both albums in one CD it could probably trump Electric Fire off my list. Still, 5-6 good tracks out of 22... :S
