At least, I think that's what it was called? I was wondering if the site is still up by chance. It had quotes from the band members about the individual songs on the albums, and also some cool musical analysis on some of the songs, always enjoyed readin it. I read it a while back, looked for it online didnt see it anywhere, anyone know if its still there? Thanks! |

Bugger! Such a good site. |
Adam Baboolal 20.10.2012 07:43 |
Damn, that is sad :( |
tarkintheproud 21.10.2012 01:16 |
aww damn thats a shame it was a neat site. Well if you see this sebastian you got any plans put it back up? |
Sebastian 21.10.2012 02:44 |
Of course. That website was/is part of who I am, and it would make little to no sense to *never* put it back after all the time and effort I've put into it. I feel I need a break from it (and the unnecessary bullying I've been facing) and I feel the Queensphere can use a break from it too, but of course, if (when?) I'm ever capable of doing it again, I will. |
tarkintheproud 21.10.2012 13:48 |
Ok fair enough, I hope you are able to get it up sooner rather later. As a Queen fan, I also want to thank you for taking to time to have compiled all that information and making the website (must have been a real time consuming project, i'm sure!) |
Gregsynth 21.10.2012 14:00 |
Who the hell would bully Sebastian? :( |
cmsdrums 21.10.2012 15:07 |
Despite the multitude of Queen based sites, yours was pretty unique, covering areas that most, if none, of the others went into. The details are really of interest to me as a musician, and I thank you for it. I hope you are able to bring the site back again some time. |

I remember that site, I got some nice info from it... Hope to see it back in the near future! |
Ozz 01.11.2012 23:44 |
Im sure there's plenty people to help here for a proper "resurrection" of the website :D |
Sebastian 03.11.2012 11:16 |
And I'd really love to resurrect it. You know, next 8th January would be the site's 10th birthday... |
Sebastian 03.11.2012 11:18 |
I've lately 'discovered' many mistakes my research used to have, so it'd be great to put it back but in a far more accurate way. For instance, I was wrong: Brian was indeed the main force behind The Hitman. |
kosimodo 03.11.2012 12:21 |
hitman smitman..who cares:) where people work they make mistakes. And.. its nice to see updates.. i love reading about that stuff.. and also reading about how it was discovered etc. |

What original work have you contributed to the Queen community that puts you in such a position of superiority to slag off others who have done far more than you ever have and likely ever will ? Sebastian's site was absolutely brilliant. Definitely in the top five most interesting and original Queen websites. Would love to see it flying high again. |
Gregsynth 04.11.2012 01:10 |
Sebastian needs to get that site back up--or I'll force him to listen to Fukuoka 1979 for 5-6 hours straight. |
Sebastian 04.11.2012 13:32 |
I don't think there's anything wrong with disliking that website. In fact, I never liked it either ... it was never as good as I wanted it to be, which of course is my fault entirely. I don't think, either, that you have to be able to accomplish something better for your opinion to be valid. I don't need to be dead to say that someone else is alive, and I don't need to be a woman to say that someone else is a man. It was a very specific research, aimed at people who cared about details such as who played rhythm guitar on Action This Day or whether Brian sang backing vocals on You and I or not. For a lot of people, the reaction is, indeed, 'who cares?', and there's nothing wrong with that. The fact of the matter is, many people care, and many people don't, which is great, as people, surprise surprise, are different, and care about different things. What I like about a band like Queen and its research is that there's a lot to cover, from the date of Freddie's diagnosis to the brand of microphone used to record the acoustic guitar on the demo version of Liar. On all of those areas, you'll find people yawning and people getting excited by the 'discoveries' (if any). What I don't like is when such research (including mine, largely) is sloppy and leads to false myths being spread (e.g. the drums on TATDOOL being programmed, or AOBTD being synth-free, both of which I originated, and which now are 'canon'), and when such research attracts bullying and idiotic comments (BTW, as specified previously, I don't think the 'never liked the website' post is bullying or idiotic, it's an opinion, and it's perfectly valid). If (hopefully 'when') I re-publish it (under a different name, after so many years I grew tired of 'Bechstein Debauchery' as a title, it's outlived its usefulness IMO), I want it to be, while not perfect (it can't be), as accurate, clear, entertaining, informative and constructive as possible for all of its visitors (whether it's one or one million, I don't care - they're all worth it and they all deserve the best, 99.99% is not enough). |

Sebastian wrote: The fact of the matter is, many people care, and many people don't, which is great, as people, surprise surprise, are different, and care about different things.Of course, people have different cut-off points for where they lose interest in the minute details. But if someone is a hardcore fan of a band, how could they not at least appreciate such attention to detail in a labour of love such as yours? Maybe I'm a dreamer, but I'd like to think that as adults we can offer actual explanations of our feelings instead of offering empty platitudes. I want it to be, while not perfect (it can't be), as accurate, clear, entertaining, informative and constructive as possible for all of its visitors (whether it's one or one million, I don't care - they're all worth it and they all deserve the best, 99.99% is not enough).Best of luck with that ! |

There are loads of reasons to like a website like the one I had, and just as many (if not more) reasons not to. Each case is different: some may have set the standard too high, some may be annoyed at the way I constantly emphasised that Paul was not Freddie's favourite singer, some may feel music shouldn't be analysed at all (Roger Taylor would certainly dislike the site), some may be too imbecile and fail to realise that not proving everything is not the same as not proving anything (or that not being 100% factual is not the same as being 100% guessed), etc. For me, it's 'innocent 'til proven guilty,' as saying 'never liked the site' isn't necessarily groundless whiney complaint. |
tarkintheproud 07.11.2012 02:14 |
Sebastian, im curious about what details musically made you change your mind about the hitman. |
Sebastian 07.11.2012 09:28 |
Musically it is indeed chiefly Freddie's, but the lyrics were Brian's (and most likely the melody as well). |
Sebastian 08.01.2013 03:59 |
Today would've been the website's tenth birthday. |
Fmarton 08.01.2013 06:35 |
Happy Birthday Bechstain Debauchery ! It was one of the best sites about Queen. It's pity you don't run it anymore. |

Not the same as having the website back by any stretch, but anyway: link |
