The latest issue of Record Collector (Nov 2012) lists a new Roger Taylor album to be released in November in their "upcoming releases" section.
If this turns out to be true, it is possible it is the "Best of" collection that was mentioned a while ago. The collection may have a couple of new tracks such as "I'm a drummer in a Rock 'n Roll Band" and "Smile" that were previewed at a Queen Fan Club convention.
It's a new album from what RT was saying in a few interviews. I was also led to believe that it was initially scheduled for November but would probably surface in early 2013 due to Hungarian Rhapsody coming in November, etc.
I bet it would include both the convention songs and Unblinking Eye...
and just a hunch, I wouldn't be surprised to see a solo version of either Say It's Not True or Small on there.
With the Foo Fighters on hiatus, I wonder if it will be the once threatened Taylor and Taylor tour?
That could be awesome. I would almost guarantee that Taylor Hawkins would spur RT to do some more obscure tracks...
I hope that's brand new album with brand new songs. Anyway, he told to some magazine that album is "eclectic" and "featuring rock, tongue-in cheek stuff, and dance music."

I have been watching Wiki for the past few years waiting for The Unblinking Eye (album version) to be released. I really like the single, so it could be really good. So I sort of think that it must be the album rather than a best of. Don't think Roger is ready to do a best of actually. And Queen has so many collections out in recent years, some new material would be great.
A "Best Of" should not come out right now. I hope that there is a tour and a guests on the solo studio l.p. A live l.p. after the tour would be cool would it not? Well as long as Queen get to recording and touring again...
I hope this info is true and we will learn of a tour to follow in 2013! I hope we hear his Cosmos tracks on tour or in the album, Paul has done "Voodoo" live and Brian has had his turn...step up RMT!!
Roger Taylor has a new song that will be called "Smile"?! Why would he do that when he was from a group called "Smile"? Hmmm. I don't know what to think of that.

Ermmm....because the word Smile doesn't just have the connotation of the name of a 1960's band that no-one knows of, but is also a commonly known and understood word with another expressive and emotive meaning, which gives perfect opportunity to be written about in song?!?
Why would he have a song called "Liar" on his solo project when Queen had one? Why would he consider calling a song Tear It Up when Queen had one?
It's just a title of a song....
Come to think of it, Queen had an album called Sheer Heart Attack and then had a song later on called Sheer Heart Attack. Now why would they do that? .....lol!
Eric Stewart, formerly of 10CC, did a similar thing on his last two solo albums. First came the album Do Not Bend, then came the song. In that case, it was simply because a fan asked why there wasn't a song of that name on the album, so Eric decided he would make a song with that name on his next one. And he did!
Wow. Lol. Those reasons make sense. Obviously "Liar" was a cover version of the Queen song was it not? I have not heard it yet. BUT I would imagine in future Queen documentaries the song "Smile" will always be played in the beginning because no one is going to get that it is not something to do with the group. How strange. So no. In Rogers case it is maybe o.k. and could be fun...but I hardly dought people will not think that the song MIGHT have something to do with the early line-up of Queen.
Nope. Completely different song entirely.
And I really doubt that most people would make any real connection between a Roger Taylor song called Smile that's released in 2013 and a semi-pro band name from the late 60s. But that's just me.
dance tracks on the album? thought rog didnt like dance? hot space interview? just seems rather vague and i think it smells of cats piss? new album??? full of OLD songs with new songs like unblinking eye???? thats not new? come on roger get your finger out of your arse and get a full NEW album out, this album could be a bigger ripoff than velcro
He should write for his voice tricks in lap of the gods and the like
That is his best voice quality the exotic unusual
But I bet he can't reach those notes now
If he is doing hot space tracks
He should actually cover in the same singing style as Freddie, things like cool cat and dancer
Wouldn't that be fun to hear?
