Brian posted the following on his soapbox, for those who don't already know.
'Ah … I promised news of yesterday's Queen band meeting. Well, it was just Roger and Jim Beach and myself … we are a small cottage industry !! Our main agenda was the Freddie film … which, I'm happy to tell you, is on course. Much of our discussion was about contractual things … it's pretty complex …. and determining who is responsible for what. The pieces are all falling into place, though we are now on a slightly later schedule - filming is now scheduled to start in the Spring, with Sacha Baron Cohen playing Freddie. The film should be ready for release early in 2014. We did make some other plans, but they will have to stay under wraps for now. Being in Queen is – bizarrely – as full of surprising twists and turns as ever - 40 years since we first got together, and 20 years after losing Freddie. But of course Freddie is in so many ways very much alive. He must be wryly smiling somewhere !!!'
Kapone won't be pleased :P
I don't think "Medusa" etc was the Kapone guy. His montages he made kept using the same dodgy stills which were probably obtained from the net. If it was him, I'm sure he'd have better photos of himself to use.
That said, looking forward to the film.

I'd never heard of Kapone til all that kicked off.
I googled him and didn't think he looked that much like Mercury, no more than Cohen would with the aid of a good make up artist.

No shit Sherlock. ;)
:) Heh, yeah yeah, I know...
Just kept reading a few comments from folk thinking it was the actor and figured I'd point out the obvious!
I just hope that Queen continue to record as Queen (+), tour, record and tour as solo artists, re-record songs (the entire Queen catelog bunches of times!) with new people (and do cover songs), release each l.p. in a box set with these things (like the Queen 40 book with a hardback book and hardcover slipcase) plus tons of unreleased stuff and new artwork, and release old concerts that feature new concerts on d.v.d. (as in Queen + shows), and do a retrospective compilation of live stuff from their beginnings to now adays covering all sorts of Queen + concerts, and then release concerts seperately that they have in their entirety. The ones that are not complete could be released in only the anthology of live concert films along with certain performances that they have of SOME entire live concerts. AND release live concerts that they only have the audio of...before everything on film.
