QUEEN ‘HUNGARIAN RHAPSODY – LIVE IN BUDAPEST’ WILL BE RELEASED ON DVD, BLU-RAY and DELUXE EDITIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME ON NOVEMBER 5th “Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest” is a must–see concert experience by legends of rock, Queen, and now comes to DVD and Blu-ray. It will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray, 2CD and DVD Deluxe Edition and a 2CD and Blu-ray Deluxe Edition on November 5th worldwide. Originally filmed in 1986, this momentous concert movie has been re-mastered in high definition and superb 5.1 surround sound. An amazing performance is now available to be seen in crystal clear HD clarity. Also included on the DVD and Blu-ray is a new 25 minute documentary feature entitled “A Magic Year”. This follows Queen from just after their historic show–stealing performance at Live Aid, London, on 13 July 1985, through the year leading up to the epic concert in Budapest. Using archive footage from rehearsals, interviews with the band in the studio and on the road during the Magic Tour - some of which has never been seen before - this fascinating feature has been specially created for this new release. As part of the hugely successful 1986 Magic Tour that, poignantly, was the last to be played by the band with Freddie Mercury, Queen were for the first time able to include Hungary on the tour schedule. With three years to go before the fall of the Berlin Wall, this was the largest concert ever staged at the Népstadion, Budapest, and the first Western Rock Concert staged in a stadium behind the then Iron Curtain. It was of such significance to the Hungarian authorities and film industry that a group of the country’s top film cameramen and technicians were brought together to film it for posterity. Staged for 80,000 ecstatic fans, the concert set includes favourite hits like Bohemian Rhapsody, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, I Want To Break Free and We Are The Champions. “We’re delighted that Queen fans across the world will finally have the chance to relive this amazing moment for the band. We knew a stadium concert in Budapest was ground–breaking, but hadn’t quite anticipated what a historic night it would turn out to be. The concert looks fantastic on the screen in all its digitally re-mastered glory and the documentary does a great job of setting the scene – it really was an extraordinary time in the band’s history.” Brian May and Roger Taylor **** Release date: 5th November 2012 Running time: 118 minutes Formats: DVD/ Blu-ray /Deluxe Edition: 2CD and DVD / Deluxe Edition: 2CD and Blu-ray / Digital Download (Audio) DVD and Blu Ray Tracklisting: 1. Excellent, complete Budapest at last ! Too bad the video will remain the cut version, but c'est la vie. Will the whiners please stop whining now, at least for one day? QP did EVERYTHING they possibly could to release this show in the best and most complete way possible. |

Oh, I was also very pleased when I read the titel of track 11 from CD 1. A new song:-) The way Freddie sings that line during the Impromptu is very nice so great choice! |

I agree, if they didn t release the full show it means that or it was damaged, or they don t have it. Great the cd version! At this point I think that KNebworth doesn t really exist and it ll be very hard to put together a DVD from a Live Killers era. |

Not is the complete concert in dvd , another disappointment |

I'm really excited that it looks like were getting the full show on CD! I'm sure I will enjoy it more than the Wembely. I never really expected it to be the full film, though I wish it was. I think it's best to just come to terms with things that don't exist and/or things we aren't going to see. |

Am very pleased to hear about this and I will be getting it, was not expecting it either, have only seen this concert on youtube so to get the dvd and extras will be fantastic |

Blame QP.... So much money involved,an incredible 16 camera's, 35 mm film, amazing crowd and than missing master reals and no complete copy. I'll die for an useful answer. But..Í'm very happy with the complete audio, documentary, BluRay quality and new 5.1 surround mix. |

Has anyone else noticed Another One Bites The Dust omitted from DVD/Blue Ray but listed on the CD? Hopefully it's a typo |

Never did care for the performance (Freddie's voice was trashed by that point). While I still hope for an official Mannheim release (Freddie's voice was even better than Budapest) this is a better Magic show at least |

Well I didn't read the track listings thoroughly yesterday at least the audio exists in full. Shame about "dust" but I won't lose sleep over the 50's acoustic medley. I take it the audio will be full versions and possibly the video still edited? |

I saw Hungarian Rhapsody last week AT THE MOVIE THEATER!!!!!!! It was FABULOUS, of course!! Can't wait to buy it and watch it at home! It was so awesome, to see the interviews with all the guys and all. Really super!!! Only 2 shows were offered, without any advertising at all. My son who's in radio found out about it....thank God! Loved it!! |

I have been looking everywhere to pre-order this in the UK especially due to the release date being less than a month away yet I can find no listings until a few days ago on amazon.co.uk and they want £45. This cant be right, anyone else having any luck? |
cmsdrums 07.10.2012 14:45 |
Same here - I couldn't believe that nowhere else bas ut listed yet. I was shocked at the Amazon price, even though I think that's for the 'deluxe' edition which is blu ray, DVD and cd all together? |
cmsdrums 07.10.2012 14:48 |
Just checked and its not the deluxe! I'm sure it will be cheaper when everywhere gets it. Interestingly, Amazon has it listed as being released on 'Mercury Records' - what's that all about?? |

I guess we need to find out if the US version is actually Region A locked. It's listed as 1080p, so if it is region free then it would look very nice in the US or the UK if your display supports 24p. |

cmsdrums...I have not seen anything that you are talking about but there already is a Mercury Record company. Or at least there was one in the past. It was called "Mercury/Polygram" if I recall. I think people like Jon Bon Jovi were on it (circa "Blaze Of Glory" in 1990). I dought it is anything. |

I got the DVD/CD package and it is very nice. Great to have the audio too. The concert film remains the same because the original film rushes are long gone. Rio next hopefully! I want them all, and I want them now! |
