On topic, I wouldn't really care if it isnt perfect, I just want to see Freddie/Queen on the IMAX screen!

From this it looks like the documentary footage will be intercut with the actual show.
Its been confirmed by the people at the press screening that there is a 25 min documentary before the concert then the concert itself is exactly the same as the VHS release with the footage of the band up to whatever in Budapest.
I really like the bass and drum sound it's just a shame that the guitar seems quite buried in the mix. Maybe it is a 5.1 rip in stereo?
Had my PC hooked up to the Tv/Hi-Fi all week and watched/listened to loads of Queen stuff past and present (of course!). Then this came up today, I agree with others unsure of the sound. Hopefully the cinema where I see it does have a good setup. Still, looking forward to seeing it, regardless :)
Adam.
some of these post are VERY funny..!
Of course the footage WONT be intercut with the documentary....are you mental! it's just the way that clip has been done - have some common sense.....
++ It's NOT the same as the VHS release - they purchased the rights to the original 35mm film so this will be a fuller version (with whatever available film that survived) - now the cinema release probably is a cut-down version but the DVD /Blu Ray with be of the whole show...available footage permitting...
went to queenonline to check the video.the quality of the footage is fantastic but its not complete.
Keep writing comments on their website may help a little to force them at least to release the full audio concert. i hope they take the trouble of taking into account what fans write. Going next week to the cinema for sure!!!

Is it a joke?? of course that it will have the same content that the old VHS (Aparently there isn't any other footage o 35 mm) even with the old documentary footage between some songs, but before the gig there will be a new documentary that hasn't nothing to do with the old documentary (footage) with the band arround the streets of budapest...

Well I'm very sorry for assuming that after seeing a clip from the film which looks like that's the case. I must be mental!
The DVD/Blu Ray will be no different to the cinema version, what reason do you have to believe it will be? We already know they only have the incomplete version of the film anyway.
Slightly off topic, but this is turning out to be a good period for band film releases. Particularly with this, Magical Mystery Tour reissue and Led Zep's O2 Show. Quite pleased
I think it's already been established that this will only be the same footage as the VHS release. Slightly frustrating that no Blu ray release has been announced yet - probably to bump up the cinema showings attendance.
ty eYe. After watching this I sure hope the sound is better and clearer when I get this on Blu Ray. Sounds muddy. They totally muted Spike's Synth sound near 4:17mark compared to the laser disc version but I can live without Spike's synth's, just pointing that out. DTS sound on my surround might help make it sound clearer. Rock ON!
