Head told the local paper Wednesday that his comments were taken out of context and explained that he was just using the possibility of a civil war as an example of a potential "worst case scenario."
"Does that mean I think the UN is going to come rolling into Lubbock, no that probably is not going to happen. An F5 tornado is probably not going to hit Lubbock. But I have to prepare for that," he said in a video posted on the Lubbock Avalanche Journal's website.
He said a far more likely scenario is that the United States will face an economic collapse if Obama is reelected. Head went on to explain that while he fears the resulting social unrest elsewhere in the country he thinks the neighborliness of west Texans will help Lubbock weather the financial storm. link
