Hmmmn!!!
Well Bob, Apart from the fact he has got a lot of his info wrong regarding Queen "John Taylor, 2011 Q+AL gigs(gigs? did I miss some!!) A New Queen Album With Freddie" I found the article (all 10 bands) interesting & but very debatable.
On a personal note, I would Rather the Bands, go out in some form or other to give the die hard fans a treat. rather than just do Nothing. If the bands are not up to scratch, or if they are just milking the Cash Cow, it does not really matter. If you think that a band will be "crap" without any given member of the original band. Don't go to the gig, Don't buy the record, easy as that.
I mean with Queen, I have never gone to a Queen "related" gig, that Freddie was not present at, from the 1988 Cross tour, right up until the recent Q+AL gigs expecting them to sound like Queen+Freddie.
So no point, buying, say the 2008 Cosmos Rocks & Then complaining about it afterward, "Oh, it's not like Queen!!" No it's not Like Queen, It's Like "Queen-minus Freddie & John+ Paul Rodgers"
When this guy says that the proposed album patched together with old demos with Freddie on vocals is "the worst idea ever," I don't think he realizes that that could actually turn out pretty decent, or that Made in Heaven, which is pretty much just that, is actually a really solid album.
Also, quickly skimming down the comments I noticed someone claiming to be a "Real Queen Fan," say that Kerry Ellis would be better for the spot than AL. I cringed even more than the rampant misspellings of Freddie's name I was seeing.

He probably got confused :D
Paul Rodgers --> Roger Taylor (Queen drummer) --> Roger Taylor (Duran Duran drummer) --> John Taylor (Duran Duran bassist)
hmm interesting! I think there is a difference between burning out (wow that pic of the sex pistols scared me)lol and evolving. Although I don't agree with everything that Brian and Roger have done I think they have in some way been trying to evolve things.
I mean they keep trying new singers etc so it's certainly not quite rehashing it but then again maybe somethings are better left untouched.
