not only have you been sucked in by another worthless poll, but you've even broken it down for us.
You will NOT be getting my vote for Best Queenzone Poster of 2012.
Is that a real thing? If not, it should totally be a real thing.
PS, don't really care, and it's kind of unlike you brENsKi to care about a poll like this either, especially since you bashed the little kid a bit who originally posted it on here.
this is from a worthwhile UK radio station - planet rock. the UKs only proper rock station, even has rock artists as DJs....Joe Bonamassa, Rick Wakeman, Joe Elliot, Alic Cooper,
i posted it for the curious. nowhere have i said "let's vote for..." cos that's not what i am about.
just think it's a ncie list, also worth looking thru it and seeing how many of us rock afficianados have how many of the list in our own collections
Well.. I enjoyed reading the list so thanks Brenski. It's mostly what you might expect, but where's Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits? Much better than many of the songs on that list. Hard to believe Hotel California is so low. Same goes for Rush - Tom Sawyer, which has one of the best and heaviest instrumental breaks in modern music. Of the Pink Floyd songs, Have a Cigar is better than the ones listed (which one's Pink? lol!)and Wish You Were Here should be higher. What an amazing song: to think the punks rebelled against Floyd and yet Wish You Were Here is more politically 'radical' than anything Johnny or Malcolm could come up with. Smoke on the Water is hugely over-rated song: Black Night and Fireball are much better. No Judas Priest, ELO, The Cult or Scorpions? Surely Coast to Coast deserves a spot?
take your point about Wish You Were Here...
i had a stomach op last november and the anaesthetist was really into rock music, and said i could have any tune i liked to "go under" to
i chose Wish You Were Here...he did say "you won't get to hear the first line of vocals on that one" he was right i have a vague recollection of the tune starting up, and the surgical team and myself discussing it, while he ribbed the young assistant about her not even being born when the song came out...next thing i wake up on the ward
brilliant tune to have copius amounts of drugs administered to
Agree with most of the comments here. All I have to add is that Hell's Bells should be higher. I think I like that song better than any of the other AC/DC tunes on here.
Oh, also, I wouldn't expect most fans of rock in general to know that much about Queen's back catalogue, but I would expect them to know that they have better songs than We Will Rock You.

Good call on Hell's Bells. IMO It's Late is Queen's classiest hard rock song, but it's no surprise the average joe would vote for a "Greatest Hit". Rock fans might be expected to be a bit more selective. The Livekillers version of WWRY is held in high esteem by rock fans, for example.

It's also a bit of a "Stairway to Heaven" in guitar shops, as I found out last time I was in one!
