Hi, I bring to you a kind of preview to listen and have in mind what about my new project is about. The last one (the revisions) will be replaced with this. The mission is reach or be close to the super HD quality definition we had for example in the 5.1 surround mixes from the DVD's, making new mixes from the available sources. I know it's a bit impossible or really hard with the first albums, but I'll give a try anyway. This time there won't be a change text file with the new features, which took me a lot of time to write it the past. That doesn't means there are no changes, I'd invested a lot of time, work, and love into this first album of the project as the old one. The Works (HD Revision): What I can say is that it was challenging work with this album. The Works DOESN'T have a bad mixing at all! Is one of the best, but I always heard it like opaque in some points and 'cheap' in others (due the high and messed middles and low highs). Let's take 'Man on the Prowl' as example, trough very good mixed, is the best song to catch the things written above, which I tried to changed: -The drums are very telltale when we talk about quality. The hi-hat is a bit low, and the snare and the bass drum are barely audible. The Works natural snare is really weak, and having the album a mechanical theme it should be stronger. -The bass is a bit 'bdmubd mbudb budmbd' and messes the whole song definition, it pastes all the song. -The piano and the guitar sound like being heared trough a market speaker, which gives them a cheap sound. Also, the piano was very loud! -The voice has a lot of reverb and pastes the song too. As a preview, last night I made a low wheight audio archive where you can listen bits of all the songs and make an idea of how the project album sounds. The compilation is a bit bad mixed because I was very tired (you'll notice during the last songs). In a few days I'll upload the complete album (three or four songs left, including extended versions, and lots of problems with 'I Go Crazy' voice equalization and global volume levels). Enjoy it!!! |

Thank you. |

Tear It Up sounds promising. :) |
C_Matt 08.09.2012 22:05 |
Thank you very much for your replies PiotreQ and Fickle! I'm really sorry for the delay it took. I had lots of problems with Windows 7, and other ones reinstalling all the things. That took me a lot of time, but finally, here is the revision! First of all, let me tell you that I didn't make all the extended versions because some of them were just pointless. IaHL extended version is not good at all (only Freddie's new scream "Yes I know is a long hard fight!" is), MotP one kills every live feeling, KPtOW... no reason to hear the complete song only for a new few sounds at the ending, that's why I included bits of it in the album version. Only worthly and changing sons are the Radio Ga Ga versions and the instrumental Machines one. ALL THIS FITS IN 1 CD, the WAV files will be uploaded soon. I'm having a problem with Part 2: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 Access denied The requested URL cannot be provided URL: link hxelttyda73h2h2/The+Works+-+C_Matt%5C%27 s+HD+Revision+-+Part+2+of+2.rar Blocked by Web Anti-Virus Reason: malicious link Click here if you think the web page has been blocked incorrectly. That's one of the reasons I hate Kaspersky, it's always detecting viruses which don't exist. The only way I can think is using another Internet navigator, or shut off temporary the antivirus and then scan the files manually. Anyway, dont' worry about the inside content, because there are just audio files, and 21 persons had already downloaded the 2nd part fine. If you can't download it doing that, tell me and I'll re-upload it. Cheers! |
Back2TheLight 11.09.2012 01:08 |
I have downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to check it out. I enjoyed your work on The Miracle, so I'm thinking this should be pretty cool too! :) |
dysan 11.09.2012 07:28 |
Hmmm.. just went to a porn advert for me. Cheers. |
C_Matt 11.09.2012 14:26 |
Bambams, thank you! I hope you enjoy it very much! You'll notice less structural changes than the last album, because I focused on the quality. Dysan, the links go directly to mediafire, it's strange, it might be the MediaFire advertisments which open when you click to download the file, and this time are about porn, but the link doesn't redirect to a porn advert itself. It's weird because with The Miracle nobody had problems. |
Lord Fickle 11.09.2012 15:54 |
As two of us have had issues downloading it, is there any chance you could re-upload Pt 2, Matt? There may be nothing wrong with it, but personally, I'd rather not take chances. |
beatmichael 11.09.2012 18:56 |
For what it's worth, I didn't have a problem downloading either part. No virus detection and no porn links. I've listened to a bit and once again I'm pretty well amazed at what you can do with this stuff. I STILL don't quite get what it is you do exactly but the results are pretty great. My only complaint is; bar Jazz, the last two have not been amongst my favorite Queen albums and I'm just not as intimately connected or as familiar with them as I could be to notice every thing you're doing. Know what I mean? I've been focusing on IWTBF and the changes there are quite obvious. The drums are nice; tonally and the echo effect is great. The kick seems really loud almost on the verge of 'popping'. Guitar is much more present in the mix and the vocals are as well. The panning is nice and the harmonies are seperated. The whole mix seems much wider than the remaster. I'd like to have a tracklisting or if you could at least point out which version is what as there is more than one of a few tracks and they weren't tagged. Really, really impressed again. You're doing a great thing here. How 'bout 'the Game' next? Please don't do 'Innuendo' next! |
C_Matt 11.09.2012 21:47 |
Hi Fickle, there's no problem, I understand you. Here's the new link, on RapidShare: http://rapidshare.com/files/1765767161/The%20Works%20-%20C_Matt_s%20HD%20Revision%20-%20Part%202-2.rar Enjoy it very much! Beatmichael, thank you for the reply! I'm really glad you enjoy this. I'm replacing my Queen discography with this new mixes. IWtBF was one of the songs which more work took me (but the most complicated were IGC and KPtOW), because it was very hard to give it strengh being a flat music pattern, so I focused mainly in the "climax" parts. Also made more louder the tambourine volume in the album version, and changed the synthesizer solo sound to one more electric, which helped a lot. MotP is another which suffered lots of changes in quality terms. It sounds cleaner to me. And Machines has lots of new features. Doesn't the songs have the names on it? I was sure I'd put them for every one. Anyway, it can be possible, so here you have the tracklist :) 01. Radio Ga Ga 02. Tear It Up 03. It's a Hard Life 04. Man on the Prowl 05. Machines (or 'Back to Humans') 06. I Want to Break Free 07. Keep Passing the Open Windows 08. Hammer to Fall 09. Is This the World We Created...? 10. I Go Crazy 11. Hammer to Fall (Single Version) --> Original recording tempo 12. I Want to Break Free (Single Version) 13. I Want to Break Free (Extended Version) 14. Machines (or 'Back to Humans') (Instrumental Version) 15. Radio Ga Ga (Extended Version) 16. Radio Ga Ga (Instrumental Version) 17. Thnank God It's Christmas (Non-Album Single) The next album will be "The Game", then! |
beatmichael 11.09.2012 22:39 |
Thanks dude. You had tagged the songs but the ones that appeared more than once didn't have which version they were. |

Thanks to you for the note! I didn't know. The WAV files size are around 581Mb, so I splitted them with HjSplit. It's very easy to join them, read the following few lines: Download the program here: link (the freeware version if you want), open it and click in the "JOIN" button and then select the "CD.rar.001" file and the output path. Click "Start" and wait for the resulting RAR archive. If some of the files gets broken, tell me and I'll fix them. Again, enjoy it! Here are the links for the WAV files: Part 1: http://www.mediafire.com/?qmtmuzc48qd96g5 Part 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?jaaoi4hh5a20vvp Part 3: http://www.mediafire.com/?v10oox2gd82yobc Part 4: http://www.mediafire.com/?qx8c75bbsrgpig1 Part 5: http://www.mediafire.com/?axsx416ns5yu508 Part 6: http://www.mediafire.com/?gyqk5kxvxwx979i Enjoy! |

ADD: I checked just one seconds ago the links. Nod32 Antivirus blocks me some links too, but those are just advertisments, the Mediafire page with the download still opened. Just close them to keep downloading. Cheers! |
Lord Fickle 12.09.2012 16:58 |
Just downloading now, thanks Matt. Just an observation, I believe HTF was 'slowed down' for the single, to make it sounds 'heavier', so whilst you have corrected it to match the album version, it may no longer be 'authentic' to how the single version should sound - do you get me? I won't be able to listen to these until the weekend now, but I will look forward to hearing them. :) |
C_Matt 16.09.2012 03:40 |
Thanks for the observation Fickle! You got the right point. Now, I really don't know which version is in the original pitch: while the album version sound more legit, the first note it's between G# and A, and the single version is in A (1/4 tone up). The new tempo and tone aren't to different for notice the change. As you say, I pitched down the single version to make it sound heavier and "inflated" like the album version, which sounds better to me (might the original recording first tone was on G# and they turned it up 1/4 tone to make it sound faster, like Scandal, AKoM or Killer Queen). Remember that this was like a "remake" of the album, which means it has structural changes :) . For example: the 'I Go Crazy' live tempo mistakes at 1:30, and the drum fill in that section, or the keyboard solo sound at IWtBF. Anyway, I always can upload the original pitch version if you want to have it more close to the original. Cheers! :) |
brians wig 23.09.2012 03:27 |
Any chance of you re-uploading your previous albums in FLAC please, now that you seem more able to do so. Thanks :) |
C_Matt 29.09.2012 20:30 |
Brians Wig, As soon as I finish with The Game I'll revisit my other albums to adapt them to this new project. The last one was more about a correction, this is orientated to reach better quality. Cheers! |
drmurph 06.10.2012 11:26 |
As with your previous efforts, I think this is outstanding. I really enjoyed listening to it and it was really interesting to hear different instruments given more priority in the mix. Thanks again and I eagerly await any more of your hard work you will share with us. |
C_Matt 07.10.2012 22:10 |
Thank you very much Drmurph for your feedback! It's good to have a fresh listen of the entire album. Right now I've done 5 songs from The Game, and might I'll upload a few days to make a correction preview. Cheers! |
Marlamir 26.08.2017 18:06 |
