Eagle Rock entertaiment in october will release on DVD concert group THE WHO Live in Taxas'75. And we feed reissues. I am filled with anger and resentment |

We listen to music to enjoy ourselves. There is no need to be so stressed about nothing coming out of QPL because there is a huge load of bootlegs here which you can download and enjoy. |

That Who concert has been out for years. It's a great show. Maybe you should get into The Who instead of waiting for Queen releases.. ? |
brENsKi 24.08.2012 11:08 |
i agree. no need to get stressed about lack of QPL releases...of any kind if they can't be arsed to provide real fans with some worthwhile archive releases, then they don't deserve/are not worthy of our current expenditure/loyalty...for me - i'll stick with the past queen stuff and enjoy that, cos f-all will come out of QPL of any interest while Dr May still draws breath - he seems determined to prevent it there are plenty of other bands out there worth spending some money on - both old and current of the old....bowie, who, purple, rainbow, lizzy, beatles, ufo, floyd, rush etc all show how to do reissues and reward fan loyalty of the current bands, the killers new on is due next month and green day are rewarding their fans with 3 albums in 3 months...that's how to treat real fans queen could take an example from bands like green day - or even their older contemporaries...they don't tho, do they? so fuck em...they're getting no more of my money til they do but hey, don't get resentful, just spend your money wisely...elsewhere |

What I dont get is, if Brian is so determined that some concerts won't be released to a mass audience because they aren't technically good enough for modern standards (I don't agree with him, but let's assume that's the case) why can't they be released as a limited run with basic packaging for fans only? They could do it through their own website if they wanted. Or they could support the fan club by releasing them fanclub only. It's Brian's lack of empathy for fans that gets on my goat. All it would take is a little effort, but he would rather direct his attention EVERYWHERE else except address fan concerns. |
The Real Wizard 24.08.2012 12:37 |
He seems keen to reach out to the man on the street and keep Queen's music in as many people's memories as possible .. while he still can ! Can't blame him, really. But the fan club release idea is a great, sensible one. Can't see why he can't do both. It's not like people can't go onto youtube and see the old performances that he thinks are "bad" ... they'll just be in better quality instead of grainy video from a 30 year old VHS. |

I'm starting to get annoyed that still haven't heard any cinema dates in Canada for the Budapest concert. But yeah love The Who material last year I bought "Live at the Isle of Wight Festival" Blu Ray. Keep them coming. |

Meant to add that I bought and printed tickets already from the Cineplex Odeon site, so you should be able to do the same and not worry about it further. |

What are people really hoping to see that they havent seen before in some shape or another? Same argument for 20 years. What you have already is what you have forever. Stop talking about future releases. That way you wont be filled with 'anger' and 'resentment' |

Because I love Queen music, I apologise. I must only have a voice if I sit here and pine for future Queen releases that will not happen? Grow up. |

Well, I couldn't agree more. Then again, maybe I could. |

Let's call a spade a spade.. You're not much of a Queen fan if the idea of a DVD or blu-ray of a compilation of two nights at the Rainbow 74 or Earls Court 77 doesn't interest you. |

Canada wasn't included in the original press release, so I wonder how many people are actually going to find out about this? Either way, I'll be getting my tickets at the door. About 20 people showed up to the Queen Rock Montreal screening a few years back. |

" QueenFBWorld Chat "We would like you to invite you to join us in a very active Queen group on FaceBook. Our objective is to try and build legitimate long term chat group/forum on FaceBook. It is also a great opportunity for you to chat and make friends with Queen fans from around the world. So come on don't be shy I have randomly selected most of our members from the Queen page, it's a lot of fun and we are also trying to reach 1000 by Freddie's birthday so do it for Fred..... :) If your interested send me a friend request, Paul Kauchick....:) |

Thanks for the info. Also I did a search on Empire Theatre and they are showing it too, but in not that many theatres. My guess they will be shown as a afternoon Matinée (at odd showing times) at both Empire and Cineplex. |

It was sold out and sardine packed for the Montreal showing here. Don't know how many that would be. Standard issue multiplex seating - several hundred at least. It's possible recent exposure via the Olympics and Queen + Lambert etc. might make it a hotter ticket this time around. @jaystang - The showing in my city is at 7:30 pm. If it's like Rock Montreal it will be a one off evening event. |

I'm actually surprised that they're coming here to Quebec; I thought I'd have to go Ontario to se it! I just hope Pauline doesn't force them to put in French subtitles. |

as a Who fan, I'm delighted :) :) as a Queen fan, I'm very much looking forward to the new Freddie documentary and the expanded Barcelona release. Also, I think it's regrettable that adam lambert probably is responsible for not only 5 nights of butchering Queen songs, but for also delaying any Queen + Freddie Mercury & John Deacon live releases this year. If we get one, I suppose it will be in time for Christmas. However; I for one can't wait to have Budapest in the best possible quality. Maybe next year will see the Rainbow show(S..hopefully) and Hammersmith? Let's not forget Wembley #1 which Universal put out last year. all in all, as far as releases go, the Universal era so far has provided me with lots of great material |

Speaking of The Who, I have a full S/B recording from Detroit, MI in August 2002. Just after John Entwhistle passed. Robert Plant opened up. It is a great show. If someone could tell me how to upload it for sharing I'd be more that happy to. Is this something you might be interested in? |

variety is the spice of life........... whenever my heart burns for the Queen shows we all want to see and then realise QPL don't care about there ageing fans , I am glad and grateful for all the other wonderful rock bands that I can listen to.... ....but it will always pain me that that QPL/Brian? won't release the 70's shows because of quality. They could easily create a legitimate 'budget label' (lets call it "Badger/Fox Rock Ltd") and release all the stuff we want in whatever quality it exists in (without hugely expensive restoration/remastering but better than what we have already). This way they collect royalties but Universal/QPL don't get criticism for 'poor quality' or tarnish their label and the Queens fans (ranging from 0years-close to dying) get to see and enjoy what they love...... yes yes "Badger Rock" Dr.May.......make this your new project and save and protect Queen fans from not enjoying the things they love! |
