Great share, thanks! This was an incredible performance. Jessie J had some problems with the initial feedback, but it was soon solved and it went great. I wasn't aware of her voice range, and she really impressed me. Great singer. Great to see Roger looking so healthy too. Brian solo, what can i say?- Only Brian to have a guitar solo spot on the greatest cerimony of them all. It was brilliant! |

Wow, so not only did the mods ban this video on Dime for the fact the set was posted officially on iTunes afterwards (albeit in a much different form, mix wise - but despite their insistence I had "plenty of time" to do my research, how the hell was I even supposed to know the IOC were going to put out a compilation on iTunes not even hours after the finale??), they also added a 2nd demotable infraction on the basis the Freddie bits came from, get this, LIVE AID!! Seriously, what a bunch of idiots they are! I have been arguing with them all day by e-mail repeatedly pointing out that the Freddie bit came from Wembley '86, NOT Live Aid, and yet they refuse to believe me and insist that according to this article they linked to, it simply MUST be true that Live Aid was used for this despite glaring obvious differences otherwise, despite the fact I provided screencaps and an MP3 to prove my point! link link |

As this now appears to have had a rather rapid 'official' release on iTunes I have reluctantly withdrawn my share. I know I could take Boris, but Sebs still got a good kick on him and once Team GB turn up I'm done for. |

Despite the fact the footage and audio used are not from Live Aid, you uploaded officialy released material as defined in their rules, wich specificaly prohibit even alternate mixes from oficialy released material. It's their tracker, they make the rules. You where the one who told them to piss off, when you should have simply said "sorry, I was unaware of this, will try to do better next time". Instead you acted like a prick, and turned what should be a non event into a personal issue. Fact is you wanted to be the hero to upload first, and when you couldn't then you had to have the last word. I'm not saying dime mods are always right, sometimes they make mistakes, and when people are polite in showing them so, they recognize it and reverse the decisions. I had a couple torrents banned too, mostly for format related motives. Some bans i didn't agree with, but said to myself "it's their site, they make the rules" and did my best to comply when possible. Do you have any idea how many torrents are posted and removed from Dime every single day? Hundreds. And these guys are volunters, they don't make any money out of this. They don't have to take shit from anyone, and I can only imagine the stuff they have to put up with every day. If it was me I would probably quit in less than a month. So next time this happens to you, my advice is be polite, and don't pick a fight just because you have the need to somehow be proven right on some level. Mostly they are nice people who are there to help everybody that needs and keep the place running smoothly. |

Thank you for sharing this so fast. Maybe we should think about stopping this torrent also to keep copyright discussions and things more bad then this away from Richard. kind regards W. @MDNA: I think you wrote to hard to a member who put some good work into and spent time for a share of interesting footage to spread it with other communities. There's no need to talk about being a hero in a bad way. If there would be more of this "heroes" we would have much more interesting stuff for our ears and eyes. |

If there would be more of this "heroes" we would have much more interesting stuff for our ears and eyes. You obviously didn't read his exchange with the Dime mods. I am always grateful for all that is shared here, and I do apreciate his and everybody elses work in bringing these recordings out. But like I said, he started acting like a prick talking to the Dime Mods when he was the one at fault, and then for some strange reason that eludes me, felt the need to be vindicated by somehow "proving" they where wrong about something that didn't even impact their original decision, even bringing the discussion here, when he simply had to let it go. If you don't like Dime's rules, don't post there. |
Double-U 14.08.2012 06:42 |
You're right I didn't read the exchange but I think Dime is Dime and QZ is QZ so there's no need to point the finger to something that happend on another place. You didn't start it, I know but we might stop giving oil to he fire. regards W. |

I was pleasantly surprised by Jessie J... don't know much about her, but did give the song a modern twist and her voice wasn't bad too. I've heard MUCH MUCH worse collaborations with Brian and Roger (Adam Lambert being the most recent). She def rocked the stadium. I wonder if Brian added her to his bedpost with kerry Ellis, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Pink and FIVE (he he). Thanks for sharing IL, difficult to find anywhere else. |

What does that tell you? :P |

It doesn't worry me as I got my own HD recording, but I think it's pathetic that some of you think these off-air transmissions should be removed. It's a TV broadcast for christ sake and one which anyone could see and record. As for the Youtube clip, 1080 or not, it's still shit quality in the grand scheme of things AND it's de-interlaced. As far as I'm concerned, the Olympic closing ceremony is NOT official until the Bluray Release comes out later in the year. |

It may be a TV broadcast, but considering the risk at play here what with the IOC and apparently NBC tracking down unauthorized video uploads, it's a risk I don't want to take with this upload anymore at this point, particularly after the shitfest I dealt with this past weekend. And like you, I now have an HD rip as well (from CTV, found it online elsewhere), so I'm not really bothered to discontinue this particular upload. It's too bad though it had to come to this. |
