Hi everyone, when I look at Freddie and his sister, they both look so different from their parents i.e more white and European looking... They definitely don't look Indian. Although one thing that does puzzle me was that Freddie did look Indian as a child, but pictures of him in his very early 20's and beyond he looks white and had more Europeanish features...
Do you think there was a white guy or girl in Freddie's ancestry?
i have often wondered if Freddie had a nose job and facial surgery, but i think this confusion is actually caused because of bad lighting fuzzy quality film in cameras.
He actually seemed to get younger looking with age
upto a certain point, but this must a illusion.
Yet it fits nicely with the lyrics to lily of the valley
"But each time i grow old"
Lol but when and in what direction?
puzzle that one.
he did
He looked very indian sometimes and very much older when he in his twenties
and sometimes his jaw looked massive and yet sometimes much leaner, especially when he first grew his moustache. compare his look then to the bohrap video pictures, he looked more mature back then than he did when he first grew the moustache and is pictured with Mjackson for instance.
There is a ludicrous conspiracy theory about paul mcartney being replaced based upon phto evideNCe that is just plain dumb, but there would seem to be far more changes in Freddie's phOtographs, not that i for 1 instant believe he was replaced, i mean how could they get the voice?
ethnicity is not the correct term. ethnicity refers to the racial group you feel you belong to
for example: i was born in england, but all my family before me are Irish, so i feel my ethnicity is irish
racially, freddie looked very much like his mother
I think Freddie is the perfect example of how hairstyle/facial hair/clothes/'roundness'/ and all round image can make you a different person.
Its difficult sometimes to think that the long haired higher pitched fella that is singing KYA in all that early footage is the same fella singing to 70000 people on stage at Wembley only 13 years later...
He might look different ethnically or racially but thats because he wanted to... whether thats a good thing or a bad thing is another argument completely....
Wasn't Freddie racially Persian though, and only culturally Indian?
As for looking Indian as a kid, I've only seen a couple b&w photos and a dark-haired kid with a tan from living in a sun-drenched country could probably pass for Indian in a b&w photo. Freddie's parents, having spent a lifetime in sun-drenched countries, would have been permanently tanned/aged from that more so than Freddie.

One theory could be that it goes all the way back to the days of Alexander The Great whose armies went all the way to Persia and Northern India. :-)
Freddie's parents were from an ethnic/religious minority in India, called Parsi/Zoroastrians. These people were from Persia (which look so much more similar to Europeans than Indians) and hundred years ago when Islam came to their country they needed to migrate to India.. Much more to say but I think that's enough for this specific Question
