Adam Lambert wants to team up with Queen in the studio for an album of new material after joining them for a string of live performances.
The American Idol star performed with the rockers at shows in London this week (begs09Jul12), and he admits he is eyeing a future collaboration with the We Will Rock You hitmakers.
When asked on British radio station Capital FM if he would be interested in recording new material with Queen, Lambert replied, "Yeah, I mean, I would love to work with them in any capacity in the future. I don't think I would turn any offer down. I mean, they're amazing. I don't know what that would be, but hey."
Wow,
This is the news I've been dying to hear!! Adam Lambert recording a CD with QUEEN!!! I have loved QUEEN from the very beginning in the 70's and Adam Lambert is my all time favourite American Idol ( runner up, what a shame. He should have won the whole thing!!!) I just can't wait for the CD to be out!! YEEEEAAAAAH!!!
You've got to be joking. Lambert is rubbish, his singing is almost yodelling with all that damned vibrato. I did wait until I heard him with Queen, I've now heard it, and I don't want to hear anymore.
Paul Rodgers was superb in comparison. OK he didn't have the high notes for some songs, but otherwise his voice was more powerful live than Freddies. And Rodgers is a serious star in his own right, unlike Lambert.

You are not a real Queen fan and you are what is wrong with the shit filled music industry of today
I can fully understand why Brian & Roger still want to tour but surely it's time to give up on the Queen thing now. Nobody wants to hear another Cosmos Rocks to further tarnish the Queen name. They could always tour solo again, Roger already has his next album wrapped up and I'm sure Brian would do the same. I'll listen to the back catalogue and remember how Queen were and not the circus it's turning into. Very sad.
This shows how opinions vary. I quite like Cosmos Rocks. OK it's not the greatest Queen album and there are a couple of tracks I don't like, but the same applies to several Queen albums I could name eg. I consider the track "Sheer Heart Attack" just a hideous mass of noise.
Listening to Cosmos Rocks in the car this lunchtime with the volume up it occurred to me the Roger/Brian basic unit is still strong. So, I'd be supportive of them giving it a try with a singer they figure they could work with.
I think Adam would find it an interesting learning experience. :-)
Well to be honest I though Lambert did a good job, and like he says he's not there to replace Freddie. No-one ever will!
But Queen were cut short way before the end and there are many that will never have got to see Queen, including me (was too young to see them live). I have been blessed to see Brian tour his last album, saw them (Brian and Roger) at Freddie's 10th anniversary of his death with a tribute concert in London back in 2001, and finally with Paul Rodgers a few years ago after their Cosmos Rocks album.
Ok, not the best album in the world, but their Hot Space album - that was a joke but none-the-less still Queen.
Everyone has an opinion which they are entitled to. Others that were too young to see them live will get the chance now to see them in a way which is still a good experience. It's all they know, making albums and touring and they'd be lost without it.
Paul McCartney still does it, he doesn't need the money, it's just what he's used to. He's old and not as good as he used to be but people still flock to see him. The difference with him is that The Beatle's disbanded before they had a chance to possibly re-unite so therefore Paul couldn't really continue with The Beatle's name whereas Brian and Roger (two founder members of Queen) can still continue under their name.
Good luck to them in their continued success and hope to see them again. Perhaps they will do a final farewell tour with the hope that Deacon will join in or perhaps do some guest appearances with them.

This thread is meaningless. I thought their was more intelligence then what is on show here.
Half of you are jumping up and down saying great news, the are, predictably saying Adam Lambert is crap.
If any of you read and understood what was written. He was asked if he would be interested in recording new material. . He said yes and explained why. At no point has he or BM and RT said that they are going to record anything together.
It was just a question asked by a radio station. I love the way you lot are getting you knickers in a twist over something so simple.
