Hi there. In the middle of The Miracle album revision, I listened to The Miracle song and remembered how which I wanted time ago to try something with it, because I never found any kind of remix of this song. As I do not have stems or something like that, it's more difficult to do anything I want, so don't expect the magical changes, but anyway, I'm very pleased with the results. I really, but really, hope you like it. I love the song. You can listen and download it trough SoundCloud! For a better experience, I recommend to you download it and listen to it in a good music player (or mp3, anything with good lows and trebles). http://soundcloud.com/c_matt/the-miracle-pizzicato-rock And don't forget to comment! I would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions ;) |

It is good but I don't like the final guitar overlap at all. Great mix anyway. C ya! AlexQ |
C_Matt 27.06.2012 03:06 |
Hahahaha, I'd put it there because I wanted to hear how it fits with the music and liked how the guitar fight stayed. Thanks for your reply, I'm glad you liked it! |

It's funny how the guitar solo of The Invisible Man fits in some spots at the end of the remix. IMO the best solution would be to turn off the guitars from the Miracle track and stay with the one from The Inv. Man only but we have no multitracks unfortunately and playing with 5.1 tracks wouldn't be enough I'm affraid. |

You also will insert this mix in your project? However, does not differ much from the original version (until the third minute), it feels more the guitar and the piano was "amplified" and even the guitar solo of The Invisible Man is good as well as that of The Miracle (although you do end up too early) Great remix! |
C_Matt 27.06.2012 12:29 |
PiotreQ, that is true, that would be the best. Can you image The Miracle multitrack? Full of things here and there! As I couldn't find a solution and liked it too, I left it in the mix. From 5.1 tracks the further I could got was to make an "acapella" for the voice with the guitar (and used it to make harmonies, change some places, an do stereo pan). Blaise, yes, I'm putting this on the "CD2", as there are only 5 free minutes and this fits perfect! I'll upload it by weekend. The guitar is from TSMGO stems, and the piano doesn't exist on the song (only in the parts like "Test tube babies being born..." but in the chorus disappears), the rest from some MIDIs I've made for the mix (with other things, like a new bass drum, synthesizers effects, the new "pizzicato feeling" bass). The end finishes early because right there the "That time will come" vocals part started raising. The fact of don't have the multitrack makes very difficult the task of changing the song a lot (ex: I can't put one vocals melody parts in other section beacause I can't erase it from the original. And using the Karaoke wouldn't let me erase some guitar parts, or low the bass. Again, thanks for the comments! And glad you liked it and make different points of view, always is interesting to hear you and can share opinions about mixing! |

On which album you will work next? The Works? (Just a curiosity, not to force you ;) ) |
Kacio 27.06.2012 17:38 |
excellent remix :D |
C_Matt 27.06.2012 23:12 |
Beatmichael and Kacio, my most honest thanks! I'm so happy to read that you liked it! Blaise, there's no problem! As soon as I finish The Miracle I'll add some new bonus tracks to the Jazz revision. And then i thought start with A Day at the Races, alternate one from 70's and other from 80's/90's. Anyway, I can start with The Works, there's no problem at all! |
Blaise Pascal 28.06.2012 04:42 |
Dude, if you do this you're a great! Again, I am not force you to do that ... You calmly do what you gotta do, don't worry ;) |

AlexQHave to agree...the mix is fantastic...all the way up until the very end when you threw the 'Invisible Man' guitar solo over the top. I think you had phenomenal ideas with this song, more than anyone else has done, esp with what little you had to work with no doubt. But that end part killed it for me! |

Blaise, there's no problem, the next album will be The Works! But first, hear The Miracle to see if you like the way I do this kind of work hahahaha. Bambams, thanks for the response! I thought the end solo would have been more liked (as I really do how it fits). Anyway, thank you very much for being comprensive and have in mind all the work it took, without having the necessaries resources to work properly, and apreciating the ideas I'd put in the mix. A very hard goal to reach. I'm really glad you liked it too (till the last part hahaha, might I have to upload another with a the original ending). |

We wait with trepidation your new mixes! |
C_Matt 01.07.2012 01:28 |
Thanks Blaise. There are only two songs left (HOiT and Scandal) and the album will be uploaded with some other goodies. Meanwhile, I'll upload Breakthru, which I've done today and left me with a good impresion of how it sounds now. And MLHBS. Breakthru: link General: -Changed the final "Breakthruuuu!" to coincide with the last drum bass hit. -Eliminated its reverb and added another new which allows you to hear better the original voices. -Added a slide down and slide up at the very end to give the feel it explodes at the end. -I added a "Breakthru" during the bass solo, at 3:07. Through is not on the mix, I thought it fitted well and left it. Drums: -Raised up the snare (this was urgent necessary). -Raised up hi-hat. -Raised up bass drum. Vocals: -Raised up vocals and Freddie's voice during the song. -Raised up intro harmonies, so you can hear better Brian and Roger singing. -Corrected clipping at the harmonies when Freddie sings "Boooooooooooooooooooorn" at 0:18. -Added a bit more of body to Freddie's voice. -The acapella intro was made more breathy. -Tuned a bit that "Oh yeah ;)" note at 2:00. -Raised up Freddie's last Breakthru at 4:01. Guitar: -Added more bright. -Raised up the guitar solo, it was too low, especially the explosion. Bass: -Raised that train lows! If you listen it very loud it will move your floor like a passing train! -Given a lot of power to the bass. -Raised up the brilliant bass solo. My Life Has Been Saved: link -Tunned a bit Brians guitar at 0:20 ("puaua puaua PUAaaaaaaaUUU puaaa"). -Fixed the abrupt cut at 1:09. -Raised up Freddie's vocal improvisation at 1:22. -Tunned many Freddie vocals: -At "THIS is where we are today". -At "PEOple going separated". -At "THIS IS the way THINGS are NOW". -At "Oh LORD I THANK the LORD above". -At "YEAH yeah yeaeah" (1:43). -At "WE're RIGHT back..." -At "AND this..." |

Just listened to The Miracle, and Breakthru. Both good jobs. The Miracle isn't my favourite Queen track, but this remix is quite nice, apart from the end, which I agree with the others about. Perhaps the IM guitar needs to be slightly lower in the mix? Clever how you isolated it, though. I could never master "acapellas" from the 5.1 tracks. Breakthru - well, I was looking forward to it, and you've certainly brought the drums up in the mix, but I wonder if there's just a little too much low bass? It sounds great in places, like on the 'de da de da de da da' keyboard part, but in other parts it seems to swamp the mix just a little. They still don't sound like real drums, do they? Why the hell did they have to replace Roger's drums with machines? It's not as if he's a crap drummer, after all! I also realised that I haven't heard the album version of this for years, as I always seem to listed to my own 'hybrid' mix of the 12" and album versions, so it was quite refreshing to hear. Good work, though, and looking forward to the album. :) |

Thank you very much for the response, Fickle. Putting the TIM guitar on The Miracle remix was a bad choice hahaha. It was taken from the center channel. What I've isolated were some voices and guitar bits to make the harmonies and change some of their places. About Breakthru, maybe its true, it has a bit loud the low lows, it sounded good and explosive to me, but I can low down them a bit for the final "release". The digital drums can't be made sound like a real one without mixing the song again, a real shame, the natural drums feeling would be so great in this song and fitted so well. Today, and after many frustrating tries, I finished Hang On in There, a real bitch. It's just that the song is bad mastered. In the "read me" for the album is all the explanation. I'll probably upload it tomorrow. Again, thanks for the answer! |

Dear C_Matt, Are you sure that you haven't those famous lost master tapes? XD Great work, mate! |
C_Matt 04.07.2012 17:32 |
The master tapes are not lost. I have them in my wardrobe. Hahahaha, thanks for the comment, I will upload the revision today, in a few hours. Long work. |

Not sure about this! But as an aside, I really grew to like the original track after years of not really getting it. 'The maddest track on their maddest album' as said in the Sutcliffe book really brought it home. |
C_Matt 30.07.2012 00:52 |
I'm not sure if it's the maddest album, but yes it is one of the maddest songs they ever made. |
