Very good for 17 years old. You've got some talent. You're only problem is that your voice just doesn't sound that aggressive, which makes the song sound kind of weird at times, particularly toward the end. Your voice sounds a bit odd there. Also, you should have done the full guitar solo, not just the bit that made it on the single version!
Other than those two rather minor complaints, great job. I'd like to hear more from you, maybe on something softer and more ballad-like that would suit your voice better. Not Somebody to Love, because I'm tired of hearing covers of that song.
Seriously, though, make more!
"i'm 17 years old (that's why i have a voice like that)"
Age really has nothing to do with it, I think that's silly. It's the experience and use of technique that has a lot more to do with your voice, my friend :)
It's not too bad, your cover! You've got potential :)
"Age really has nothing to do with it"
I hate to interject but actually that's slightly bull. Good technique might be one thing that you can have at any age, but the voice itself goes through crazy-ass changes. It's not just a 'my voice broke when I was 13 and now I sound like a man' deal, either. It changes over one's whole life, so age is definitely a factor.
Anyway, to the original poster - not bad at all. As far as the song choice goes, it's one of those ones where you'd almost want a quieter version of the song to sing to, as the tone of your voice is a bit of a mismatch with the hardass Queen instrumental.
But good job, you've got good control for a young lad. Keep at it!
Excellent excellent! You have an excellent voice for your age, and there is one thing that also caught my ear:
1. the excellent quality of the vocal recording (double voices, some additional harmonies, some delays) e.g your production skills are really good
PS: If I heard it correctly, you cranked up the bass guitar part as well, right? (= compliment)
Excellent, certainly better than Marc Martell and Glambert. Your vibrato technique is also very much like Freddies, too. Which is why we all loved Freddies voice.
I am a musician too, so do have a knowledge of recording techniques. Your voice isn't doeble tracked, which if you had have done, like Queen's recordings this would have sounded better. The poster that mentioned a double track voice meant your harmony vocals which are excellent too.
If you want me to do a proper backing track for you to sing along to, let me know and I will record one and send it to you. Keep up the good work, you have a future. Paul.
Thank you so much. that's exactly what I need. I will defintely sing in a more aggressive way or just record more soft songs.
I also recorded Crazy little thing called love so you'll probably like that much more. About the recording, yes there were harmonies and the bass guitar was cranked up. You're all very good listeners. And to Paul, i still have some good instrumentals but i will also focus on doing my own songs. But, like you said if i'll need any proper backing track i'll let you know.
Your way of singing the song is unique to you.
Maybe you will sing it dfferenlty again in the future,
but what you have done now is the way to interpret it now, as you , which is as valid as anything.
