Just noticed Bri in the "Royal Box" of her majesties' 60th anniversary...
the german voiceover talked about "Brian May and the other two living members" (... and I really got excited to see John...), but it's only the doctor and his wife.
whatever.
greets,
I bet Brian is gutted they were not asked to perform not one of Gary Barlows best moves suppose he thought the British public would rather see Grace Jones lol

awful, wasn't it ?
...and btw. : what happened to elton's voice ?
what happened to elton's voice
===============================
"It's a little bit fanny, that feeling inside!!"
He's still recovering from respiratory pneumonia.
Grace jones didn't even know why she was there, wishing the queen a happy birthday.
Poor cliff he has lost his voice, he was having trouble holding a single note, someone should tell him to tone things down and stop shaking his pelvis, he's not the man he was 70 years ago
And why is it that the best people for adlibbing while the stage set up is going on are not the modern comedians but instead rolf harris and lenny henry?
The Jubilee is technically her second birthday.
Having frowned all the way through their 2002 appearance, I was totally up for some Queen songs at the end of this one. And Bowie doing Moonage Daydream.

Apparently he's recovering from a respiratory infection.
oh! didn't know that. he's excused :-)
was i the only one who got bothered like hell by 'the madness'..? imho. it was a lousy performance. the guys had no voice at all...! i mean... wtf?
...and for cliff... well, shaking it with 71 is no achievement. it's commonly called parkinson, isn't it ? i wonder if they still let him out on the 70th jubilee.
i was a little disappointed by the whole concert as i expected something more in comparisation with ERII's 50th jubilee. but one cannot top macca singing 'her majesty' :-)
bowie singing "heroes" would have been IT *lol*
nice lightshow, though.
greets,
I also thought that Madness totally broke the spirit that had been built up by Elton and Stevie Wonder. Whoever thought up placing them between Stevie Wonder and McCartney should be sentenced to a crash course in stage dramaturgy. I loved to see Jamie Moses perform with Tom Jones, very cool. Perhaps "not having performed on American Idol" was the criterion to be invited to perform on this biggest show of the year.

Madness would have been better as the opening act, singing our house and leading right in to Robbie doing let me entertain you. instead of killing the momentum as the penultimate act.
Lenny Henry's comments about Prince Harry wanting to shoot Brian May last time around wouldnt have gone down too well with Brian i'm sure.

It was a joke!
Not everyone is as thin skinned as people on the internet.
No, embrat, simply because Brian is a humorless prick these days.
Why would Brian be asked to perform? His status is certainly not on the level of any of the Knights that performed and the younger acts were there to simply give the event some balance for the younger people. He's a surviving member of a band that uses the Queen's name - and he did an arrangement of the National Anthem - end of story. I'd rather hear the BBC Convert Orchestra play God Save The Queen than Brian any day of the week.
Grace Jones was an embarassment but all the other acts perfectly hit the celebratory spirit with the performance of "Somewhere" being one of the very best moments in British music ever.

Depends on what you mean by status. Fame? I agree that he isn't. Musical significance? No, I think he is very much on the level of the Knights.

I've never really heard him before so I can't really judge, but I didn't think he was that bad. However, what I did find astounding was that for someone, whose 71, he looks 30 years younger! :D

Botox, vitamins and hair colouring and hair transplant :-)
I agree he still sounds good. I think hair loss makes a guy look old, so guys should make sure they retain a full crop of hair by hook or by crook to look young.
