i think the time has come for a new forum.
queen+adam seems to be taking up a lot of space in the boards.
if this is going to be a long term commitment with queen then the time has come for them to have there own forum.
after all we have a q+paul forum,so why not a q+adam.
and another thing, why all the doubters about adam lambert, why not wait untill he has completed a queen full concert before trying to put him down.
if he fails then i will gladly say i was wrong.
but at least give the guy a chance,,,,christ he is only trying to make some music.....i remember the hatred towards paul rodgers.
and then all of a sudden paul is great(me i liked him as a frontman).
so cmone give the guy a chance.
at least after you have heard him sing then you can be a bitch about it,,,,,you never know he may be good.
sure someone said, paul rodgers only sings the blues,,,,,well i think they were proved wrong.
look at glasgow etc(cosmos tour) stunning .
so lets give the guy a shot at the big time, give queen+adam there own forum and hope that it all goes well.
people would still post in the wrong forum, knowing that more people will read their post if it's in "general" or "serious".....less people would look in "queen+"
the whole AL thing is easy to work out (btw - i'm posting this in a couple of other threads to see if it can stimulate real discussion)
brian & roger are being nothing more than calculating. AL's star is on the ascendancy, so they've hitched a ride to try and get some "sales" in america.
problem is, they had a "sales" share in the UK already, and this whole "project" will doom their UK reputation beyond repair.
I can see a bad day coming for BM & RT when AL (the manufactured pop star) decides that they are doing "his" career and reputaiton harm by association....that day AL will ditch Queen and the dignity legacy and reputation of a once-great band will once and for all be damaged, dumped on and destroyed beyond recognition....serves them right

Nothing new there. They've been calculating for 15 years now, and have pretty much forgotten how to be musicians.
I have a feeling that this time their calculations have failed.
They didn't get the publicity boost of a sold-out show in Knebworth, and had to do with a few (contractually obligated) smaller shows. Adam Lambert is undoubtably going to benefit from a new European audience, but for Queen the effect is like peeing in your pants in the middle of the cold winter... You might feel nice and warm in the beginning, but even colder than before after a while.

So tell me, how is doing a handful of shows in Europe going to benefit Queen in America?
Could it just be that Brian and Roger like the kid, think he has a great voice that suits their music and wanna have some fun while they can and put on a good show?
agreed i think a lot of people are looking at this the wrong way.
if this was being done to increase sales they would have done it last year to push the re released albums, and it would be more than five shows.
why cant this be a group of artists enjoying themselves.
Roger once said (after Bow Wow Wow) were removed from the queen support slot in the 80s
"nobody wants to see a band jerk off, their (Bow wow wow's) attitude to the audience was fuck you. well the fans said fuck them"
exactly what sonisphere said of queen's arrogant "fuck you we can put any old karaoke singer in front of a 100,000 audience, cos we used to be Queen"
the real rock audience (the festival crowds) have said what they though of "plastic queen"
I don't think there's any point adding a new sub-forum at this stage, since the whole AL thing may well be (let's hope) very short lived. And I don't know about everyone else, but I don't really come on here to discuss Adam Lambert anyway, so it wouldn't be something I'd visit very frequently.
When the Queen+PR thing first came about in 2004, I was dead against it because I thought they were trying to replace Freddie. I liked, and always have liked, Paul Rodgers, but still couldn't see past Freddie. Then I started to think about, and saw that it was a chance to not only see two of my heroes live on stage doing their thing, but to see Paul Rodgers bringing his style to the Queen table and add a little spice with some Free/Bad Co material to boot.
I'd love to see this the same way, but I just can't. Not saying that AL is a crap singer, but I just don't see his style and voice fitting with the Queen brand. I'd also like to be able to say that Brian and Roger can play shows with whomever they wish to, but after some of Roger's comments in the past about X-factor and the like, and the release of C-lebrity, this whole thing reeks of hypocracy.
I'm not done with Queen - I still love them, and always will - but I'm sitting this one out.
Sorry for diverting from the original point in the thread David, but just wanted to say my piece on the matter :)
