boston - more than a feeling - fantastic summer feeling
thunderclap newman - something in the air
scot mckenzie - san francisco (flowers in your hair)
small faces - itchycoo park (these three perfectly capture a perfect time)
beatles - abbey road medley
queen - nevermore (never did Freddie sing so beautifully)
beatles - you won't see me (pop brilliance)
green day - good riddance (time of your life) want this for my funeral
pink floyd - shine on you crazy diamond
rainbow - stargazer (ritchie/ronnie/cozy at their best)
I contend that my FAVORITE song is and probably will always be The March of the Black Queen. That song changed my life in so many ways; it showed me what rock music really can be, exposed me to the greatness that is Queen, and best of all I've listened to over and over again and it has yet to get even remotely stale. I'm not sure if "greatest song ever" and "favorite song ever" should be interpreted as different questions, but MotBQ will be my response. Maybe the greatest song in terms of sheer innovation and inventiveness is the tribal chant, "Ooga booga," by renowned caveman composer Plocka, which is credited as the first song ever written and paved the way for every single singer and/or songwriter into the distant future. I'll bet it was truly a magnificent work of art; too bad it got lost through the ages so we'll never be able to set our eyes on its brilliance.
Overall, however, matt z's response is the most right.
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven
Deep Purple - Child In Time
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Something from the above stuff
